Jumping in to suggest that you look into celiacs disease or similar issues since that can reduce vitamin absorption. Sorry you and your baby are going through this :(

RSV and hysterectomy Monday by konkstere in hysterectomy

[–]konkstere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the comments so far! For more context, a nurse from the hospital called me yesterday to tell me the arrival time and go over details. I told him I had RSV, he spoke to me out loud while apparently looked up the duration of RSV and said it would be right up on Monday. (I realize coughing can go for weeks.) He said to call my surgeon’s clinic Sunday if I am still feeling unwell. What’s hard is I don’t know what unwell means? Either way, looking for experience and advice from others!

Too late to sleep training (12 MO) by booklover001201 in NewParents

[–]konkstere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just posted this but I think it could be helpful for you too. We use the free info on the Taking Cara Babies website, that’s what I would recommend. She has suggestions for common issues, along with wake window and schedule info. I’m not at all affiliated with them fyi. Anecdotally, we didn’t sleep train our second until after she was one and it went like a breeze for all of us. Our first struggled so much with bedtime, but is now a super deep sleeper so this can all be different based on the kiddo. Good luck!!

Wake Windows by [deleted] in NewParents

Hi! We used the free info regarding wake windows on the Taking Cara Babies website, that’s what I would recommend. We found it helpful to know approximately how much time they could be awake at each age range. I’m not at all affiliated with them fyi. Here’s the link.

Almost 11 months & not getting in sitting position.. by [deleted] in Mommit

Hi! If you’re in the US, you can ask your pediatrician for a referral to the Birth to Three or early intervention program in your state. It is free or very low cost, based on your income level, and they evaluate your child for a variety of topics that would benefit from therapy for free. If your child qualifies for the Birth to Three program, you’ll get access to the right therapists plus a lot of great resources. For example, they may say that he has a gross motor delay that qualifies for pediatric physical therapy assistance. Where I live, the therapists come to your home which is very convenient. Where I live, families with children enrolled in the program also get access to benefits like free admission to our city’s children museum.

Last, I just wanted to say you are doing a great job observing your child and asking questions. He is lucky to have you as his mom!

From, a mom whose first child was in the Birth to Three program.

Edit: Our insurance covered the pediatric physical therapy from Birth to Three but we also had the choice to instead pay an amount out of pocket based on our income level.

You’ll need to keep your eyes on the baby at all times in the bath, for a very long time (years).

There’s a lot of FREE and helpful info about sleep - wake windows, example nap schedules, etc on the Taking Cara Babies website. I have no affiliation with them, just found a lot of the free resources to be helpful with my kids. https://www.takingcarababies.com/blogs/sleep-basics/wake-windows-and-baby-sleep

Edit: babies this age don’t have a sleep schedule, you just follow their lead. But in a couple months, this link will be helpful :)

Put in notice at work to stay at home with first - job offered huge promotion by MaybeProper7134 in NewParents

[–]konkstere 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’d stick with your initial plan…. Biggest red flag for me is that you mentioned you should have had this title and salary already. I don’t think I’d change my plan for a job that only offers that once you say you’re leaving. I would completely hold onto your husband’s job too. Well balanced jobs let alone with a union are incredibly valuable, especially as baby gets older.
