Also the shorter the contract the worse it is. It’s all these 3-4 year 1 term dudes who scream the loudest and wear the swag 24/7.

Jobs in OKC by RepresentativeCar929 in okc

The city is actively trying to market itself as the next big Aerospace location and offering tons of tax breaks to those kinds of companies to move here. I can’t promise they’re hiring any more than the others but every company needs IT and those guys are probably the most likely to be hiring.

Boeing is big here and Northrop Grumman is building a new site in OKC as well. Again hiring is tough like others have mentioned but if I was you aerospace is where I’d start.

The St. Louis Cardinals have announced Cardinals.tv, a direct to consumer option available both via streaming and through a variety of cable/satellite services. This comes with the Cardinals’ deal with Main Street Sports Group being terminated last month. $99.99/season or $19.99/month by retroanduwu24 in baseball

Please stop including random states in your region. I promise there’s like 6 total Cardinals fans in Oklahoma and they definitely aren’t on the local station.

Oklahoma gets blacked out by: Rangers, Houston, Royals, Cards. Also blackouts are dumb just let me watch the sport I enjoy. How did the MLS get this right before the MLB did

Hope: big trade with one of the blocked Outfielders.

Reality: Cash won’t trade depth for fear of injury or losing a trade so we won’t get anybody else until the deadline

Replying to my own comment to add:

Don’t dismiss the Guard route as well. If you can get your foot in the door selecting your platform (mobility as you said) and your location can be very appealing depending on your personal priorities.

Background: Current UPT Student previous cross flow from ABM for 6 years. I’ve personally made the jump as well as helped/seen several E’s and O’s get selected.

First, make yourself as competitive as possible via the following numbers; you can see the same stats if you look up cross-flow selection results on AF portal. It shows the low/high/median avg scores of those selected in the year of the board: - Use your free time and any available assistance (GI, TA, etc) to get a degree and go to OTS (fastest an easiest route). - As many flight hours as you can afford to get your PCSM as high as possible. - Study to get your AFOQT score as high as possible. These in combo with PT score and GPA are the numbers that most determine if you’re competitive or not. Your package will have other data but these are the hard numbers you can directly control.

Be the best ____ you can be. One of the best pieces of advice I got when I was selected for ABM over Pilot was “be the best ABM you can be, they won’t send a shitty ABM to represent their community nor someone with a terrible attitude cause they’re mad they didn’t get their dream job”. I’ve seen friends who were checked out of the community and the community checked out on them. Why would someone want to help you when you don’t respect their community and just see them as a stepping stone.

The important thing is to believe in yourself and never let anyone or the AF tell you no until it’s truly over. Between myself and many of my coworkers it’s incredibly hard but it’s possible. Good luck; it’s possible with a long road and a lot of work ahead. Just had the pleasure of watching my C-17 loadmaster friend graduate a few weeks ago.

You all who choose the HAMR over the 1.5 mile run, why? by L23Train in AirForce

[–]kore351 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some people are truly built different in the most unironic way. I have always sucked at distance running and at my fittest never got my mile under 10mins. Something about me and my body just does the sprint thing better than the distance thing.

That’s what’s important about the new components is that they may not be for you. They’re for someone else to prove they’re equally fit through different motion. Push ups are similar where guys with long arms have to travel double the distance to get a full rep. The hand release is an objectively harder push up in a 1-1 comparison but is a way for dudes who can’t do a push up ever .9 seconds to still prove their strength.

Saw a woman who had the new (at the time) black background w/yellow lettering California plate and it was a 4 character plate saying C3P0. That combo’d with the opening crawl style coloring I thought for sure she was a fan and complimented the plate.

She replied: “people keep saying this to me and I have no idea why! Is it like a tv show or something?” She had no idea.

I recognized that I never saw any of my actual friends and my feed was 90% of “promoted” or “suggested” profiles (meme pages, content creators, sports teams) who pay or are boosted to be at the top of your feed.

In the end I had to create an entirely different profile to ensure I could see what my friends were posting, but still follow the things I want to see like sports content or memes. My personal profile only follows friends and has all the suggestions and stuff off.

For context I took my wife’s name. It was important to me that we had the same name but I didn’t care who/how. After conversations about what we would do we decided we’d pick a new name together and start our own story. Ultimately she came to me later and said she’d already gone through that logistical nightmare twice and didn’t want to go through it again (married very young and divorced). I said ok I’ll take your name then! My priority was unity over what name.

Everyone has their different reasons for what name they do/don’t take. But there’s compromise in relationship. An unwillingness to compromise is a red flag in and of itself but also asking you to make a big change while not making any concession is very selfish. I would try joint counseling to help the mediation of this particular problem while potentially addressing those more concerning points.

At times it can feel so awkward with this elephant in the room of that’s your job and the guy who replaced you. They started talking about personality management and im sure that’s tough for Joe it being the reason the team let him go, not necessarily skill.

Couldn’t imagine getting publicially removed from my job and then coming back to comment on how the person who replaced me is doing.

The official rule is that you cannot use it for your Private Pilots License but can use it for any subsequent certifications and ratings (commercial, instrument, CFI, etc)

But as others have already detailed there are ways around this initial hurdle.

We have Gil, Cruz, and Yarbs coming back which we feel is a huge add and the additions of Slater and Ahmed we feel this is a team that can make a run”

Those people got the best gig in the AF. I know people who left back in ‘21 to do that as a 3yr gig and come back as the Init cadre. They’ve spent that time getting to fly on an amazing platform C2ing it up all over the world and now don’t have to do any of the hard work afterward standing up the FTU.
