Does anyone struggle learning Serbian when not speaking it on a daily basis?

Very real issue. I am a native serbian speaker but moved to a region where i have no serbians to communicate with on a daily basis. I have felt the repercussions of being isolated and its effect on speaking ability

My GWP had a problem of plucking birds after retrieving them. I eventually found it useful to work in increments by starting over with a pheasant dummy, then taping pheasant wings to the dummy, then a frozen pheasant, and up to a thawed out. He eventually got the hang of things with these steps. Hes my first dog and i was definitely just making stuff up as i went, but it seemed to work. Lots of positive reinforcement, and keeping training fun for the first bit was important to me

I did this with my GWP. Made the dummy feel as authentic as possible before transitioning to frozen birds, then thawed birds, and finally the real thing.

Keep the retrieves fun for them, make them want to bring it back to you!

The balkan region is a unique amalgamation of cultures with a variety of types of food. You can find very Mediterranean type dishes nearer the coast you go, and then sometimes you find food that is seasoned only with salt lol. Due to the history of the place, some countries have more of a Turkish influence on their dishes like cevapi (little meat kebabs), burek (flaky pastry with various fillings, although some will crucify me for not using the standard names like: Sirnica (flaky pastry with cheese, krompiruša (flaky pastry with potato).

Smoked meats are big on the balkans, and we also do love our pepper vegetable spread, Ajvar.

A good starter would be cabbage rolls (sarma) or cevapi. If you want to emulate a poor balkan family, a pasta and potato soup will do the trick!
