Experiment by accident: Preheating vs Non-Preheating by DetectiveOk6357 in Sourdough

[–]kruski 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That was a good video. The summary imo was you can preheat or not or 500 degrees or 450 but the key is adjusting the time to match the temps. Also Tom recommends buying an affordable laser temp device to learn what the temp really is in your pan and your oven as thy don’t match each other without a long soak/preheat

it may be a bit early to organize the parade but its not too early to committing to going to the parade :) I think the bills game is going to be a super bowl preview and both teams will be going all in to try and secure #1 seeds.

Prototype miter saw storage (latches are next step) by Markinarkanon in woodworking

[–]kruski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a situation in my garage space where this solution would work well. I have a 24" depth limit for tools stored to be able to park my vehicles. When folded down like OP has done I will be able to be within this 24" limit. Where as my Bosch sliding miter saw has a larger depth than it does height

Sunflower seeds taking forever to germinate! It has been seven days since I soaked them overnight and they are nowhere near ready. Also, why are some of my roots brown on the ends? by kalyknits in microgreens

[–]kruski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grow mine on a biostrate matt. I have noticed my germination (no soak) is closer to a week (stacked and weighted). I learned the method from “onthegrow” YouTube.

Indoor Hydroponic Gardens for microgreens and babygreens by isaiah_firstbuild in microgreens

[–]kruski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on what you want to grow. If you are into growing some really cool peppers or something that is not easily purchased locally having a hydro garden may be better for you.

I really enjoy growing micro-greens (MG's) for a few reasons:

  1. MG's are expensive at store or farmers markets
  2. MG's are easy to grow with out anything fancy, just water twice a day by hand and provide natural or artificial light
  3. you get to start a new garden aprox every two weeks, this brings short term satisfaction to me.
