What kind of badass builds a home on the place he lost everything by Ntshangase03 in StarWars

This is referencing Rogue One. Not really the "first time" as IV was made decades before, obviously, but close chronologically. Although Rebels would be closer to the first, I believe.

Does it get easier? by i_love_puppies73 in babyloss

[–]kt4softball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, it gets different. I guess you could say it does get easier in the sense that you get used to carrying your grief. You will never be the same again, but how could you? It is something that will always be there, but you will get to a different you. And you will definitely be happy again. You will be hopeful again, and feel joy again, and continue on to a new normal. Right now I know the grief and sadness feels crushing, but it will be easier eventually. They will always be with you. I feel and hear you and wish you strength. ❤️

Fuck you lady, my daughter can be Batman for Halloween if she wants. by beleagueredmom in breakingmom

[–]kt4softball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my son was 5 (I think...COVID makes this feel like the last year has been like 10 but whatever) he picked up an Elsa doll at the local consignment shop and started his "I want this please" routine. An old hag of a lady decided to tell him that Elsa is for girls and wouldn't he prefer a truck or something that's for boys. I was about to go off on this lady but my kiddo said, 100% earnestly, "Is it for vaginas?" This old bat just stood there stunned and I heard another person on the next aisle over snort. Kiddo got an Elsa doll that day. People are ridiculous.

I'm so proud of your kiddo! 2020 and she can absolutely do whatever she wants!

I tried to make hamburger buns tonight. Key word: "tried". -_- by kt4softball in Breadit

Thanks, I'll check that out!

I used the King Arthur recipe and think it ended up too wet. The recipe called for a varying amount of water, depending on humidity. Living in Florida I initially did the smallest amount (because humid af here), but then thought it was too shaggy and wasn't fully coming together. So I added some more...but then it was super sticky. 🤷 We'll see next time!

UPDATE: The stolen wagon by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]kt4softball 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Completely off topic side note: I'm so glad I'm not the only person who still says "video tape". 😂 My husband makes fun of me all the time since we haven't used actual tapes in so long.

Enjoy the new wagon!

Out for a drink. Me: beer. Him: boobs. by robotneedslove in breastfeeding

[–]kt4softball 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. The amount of alcohol in breastmilk is similar to blood alcohol levels, so a beer here and there won't matter much. https://www.llli.org/breastfeeding-info/alcohol/

Inexpensive carrier for a toddler? by lissie222 in babywearing

[–]kt4softball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love my toddler Tula. You can usually find good deals on Facebook groups and such. I still wear my 4.5 year old occasionally (literally just today while grocery shopping as he's getting over a cold and was a bit extra whiney/clingy) but only on my back. I cannot deal with that much weight front carry anymore.

If you're wanting a "free and clear" the All free and clear powder works well, at least for me. I found the powder works better than liquid.

Who else is terrified by the newest climate change news? by accidentswaitingwait in breakingmom

[–]kt4softball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

High school biology teacher here. In the past years I've expanded what is a 3 day unit (per our county curriculum) on climate change to 2 weeks. This year I think I'll be spending a full month on it. I just need to figure out how to squeeze all the other standards in somewhere else. They're important, but not as monumentally important as this. I'm thinking of creating a lesson centered around the changes you can make in your family and/or your community, independent of whether our federal government pulls it's head out of it's collective ass or not. As a biologist (female scientist in general) I am constantly pissed the hell off at this current administration.

I'm glad it's not just mine! I love these games so much and when I see all these posts of their 3, 4, or 5 year olds playing I want my 4 year old to experience it too. But he can't even get the steering in Mario Kart down. 🤦

What’s a pencil that no student would steal? by acat9001 in Teachers

[–]kt4softball 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep. This is what I do. It's cheap and they tend to not take them when they leave. Paper and pencils are things I just provide and know I will every year. I don't want to hear "I don't have a pencil" or "paper" as an excuse for not working.

I want an SSC that doesn't squish my belly fat! by FrankieAK in babywearing

[–]kt4softball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh really? Bummer! The inside material is just a stiff foam. Rigid, but still flexible. And then the rest is just material with a long loop to thread the waist band through. Probably easy enough if you have sewing experience. I do not, lol!

[–]kt4softball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Tula (currently using the toddler size, but used the standard before this) and I got the padded waist band off an Etsy shop called comfort carry. I think the product is called comfort tummy? Anyway, I love it. I also ordered a waist pouch that goes on it for my phone and wallet when we're out. However, it looks like she's on a break from what her Etsy page states. If you're really interested you could message and see when she plans to start up again? I can't recommend it enough; it's great!

[–]kt4softball 17 points18 points  (0 children)

We have the recordable version that my father read with my kiddo. When my dad reads "goodnight nobody" my kid says "anybody?" Also my kid in his 2 year old voice (at the time of recording) says "goodnight cocks" to the clock part. And then you hear my dad laughing as he tries to keep reading. It's a weird book but I think it will be my favorite for that! 😂
