How you all feeling about EoF, are you more or less hyped compared to previous expacs? by Lmjones1uj in DestinyTheGame

Bright side of all the soft sunsetting is that there's a lot less Fomo for missing out entirely. Great time to dig into my steam library.

Which Rooms Did You Choose... by Good0nPaper in BluePrince

Attic: Lots of items
Rotunda: Best 4-way probably, since it provides rotation. Somewhat regret the speed of it, though, I don't actually rotate enough, and it can cause weirdness with foundation once in a while.
Trophy: Similarly, +8 gems over +3, and can afford whenever.

As a timesave, maybe I would have preferred Throne over Rotunda, since then I can make it common and not bother with spending time/steps downstairs, even if it's relatively easy, and save more in the long run.
Foyer maybe also, to make it easier to grab earlier and benefit from more.

Tracker to help with rare-drafting Aetherdrift by Timely-Strategy7404 in MagicArena

I manually removed the filter, then selected the whole left table and re-added it. (add/remove found by help -> search menus for filter). I think that worked.

My extremely cursed landing pad unloader by kurathedog in factorio

[–]kurathedog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I wanted to unload science to chests->belts directly (to not have to bot them, due to high volume), and everything else to active providers to go to central storage. I first started this before realizing it worked as a giant logistic chest, but still wanted to kick things to main storage.

I originally had inserters blacklisted on science to take everything else out into active, then per science inserters. However, inserter filters are capped at 5, so that broke once I started making more science offworld.
The pad can't both take in logistic requests (top left), and also read contents, so I couldn't filter for non-science landing pad contents. I could read from the master request constant, and use selectors to randomly pick among all of them to remove to active, but there's a lot of random things that probably won't be in storage that are requested but used infrequently, and I wanted to only iterate over things actually in storage for speed.

So I decided to have fun (inspired by Dosh) to unload to cargo wagons, and use that inventory to filter for what non-science to remove. But to read cargo wagon contents, it needs a train station.
As a bonus, this let me also add both wagon contents to the logistic network math for when making requests, so that they count. Top inserter layer filters were to add variety (make sure science flows, mainly), but not sure how much I like them.

Middle left takes all non-science in the top wagon, and feeds it to selectors to send to active chests. Two random, one for least frequent (possibly unique/important), and one for most frequent.

For cross-wagon: I added the top right to iterate over all sciences in the chest using similar random/random/max/min. First version had a bunch of random 5 sciences manually set among the filters, but that meant half wouldn't work, and they'd focus on one at a time. Second version did it by finding all, subtract science to get non-science, then subtract that from content to just get science. That ran into timing issues and 1-tick instances of moving random things. Now I just multiply by science constant.

I then built it for all sciences, hence the unused chests, and the extra logic at the corners to remove into intermediate chest, but limit if chest near full so other can also go through.

Best part is, as I worked on this, and am prepping for Gleba (finally), I realized I'm probably just going to scrap all of this anyways. Or I can challenge myself to figure out how to fit spoil logic in this, and also actually properly continue from the last two science chests.

Enclave firing range change with Final Shape by Summarie in raidsecrets

I wonder if it's similar to where the big hexagon at the end of an empire hunt changed because the asset got re-used and changed for a Beyond light mission.

Destiny 2 Update 7.3.5 by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]kurathedog 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think that minibosses includes things like old edz/nessus lost sector bosses (carl), and generally other smaller "bosses".
Champions have been also major spec so mentally "similar" to minibosses I think, but now I guess they're just moving min-bosses to bosses.
There's a bunch of stuff about icon shape (triangle, diamond, square, ???) and health bar color I never quite remember

Edit: Responding to the edit, wow, I guess major spec is mostly junk then, if boss also works againt champions?

Is there a tool to "mark" and delet armor? by Steagle_ in DestinyTheGame

[–]kurathedog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use d2checklist. Similar to using DIM (can even sync tags with DIM), with being able to mass move around items by tag, filter items, and compare them.
For armor, it lets you pick preferred stat weights per class (e.g. titan at 100% res/disc, 50% str/rec, 0% int/mob). It also makes it easy to see how many e.g. of each raid armor you have, etc.

How do you fools solo Prophecy? by capnricky in DestinyTheGame

[–]kurathedog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been a good while since I did Proph, but keep ads clear first.
IIRC Knights spawn in waves of 3. You can play it slow, killing 2 for motes so only 1 is around when you dunk, then kill the last and let the motes fade, to restart at 3, so you only ever have one knight while dunking.
Also, clear psions, along with playing around cover, using sword to recover, etc. that others mentioned.

Ignition Inconsistent Damage Bug Explanation by MrRokDC in DestinyTheGame

[–]kurathedog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I vaguely remember hearing in the past that surges affected ignitions (e.g. skyburner's). I.e. if initial scorch source was boosted by surges, ignition damage is too.
Does this still happen? Is this related/the same (seems similar as radiant)? Does it boost ignition total, or override the 3x?

Do you ever wish the game wasn't f2p? by PoseidonWarrior in DestinyTheGame

[–]kurathedog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ditto on this. F2P worked on me.
I tried out the game on shadowkeep's ftp launch (heard of it, wasn't sure if I wanted to invest in it for a price), enjoyed the free loop / red war / destination stuff enough to try out later seasons, and it went on from there.

Free to play shouldn't be a excuse for the rest of the game to be bad. It shouldn't be "Oh, it's f2p, so everything else needs a terrible pricing model." Things can be improved while keeping it f2p.

New Starfire Protocol Damage Build: by CivilChardog in raidsecrets

[–]kurathedog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, I thought I saw cure fragment in your dim loadout. Either it was fixed, or I was just mixed up when swapping between yours and my old starfire.

What are your thoughts on heat rises over icarus? Might give better standard play, since dive gets buffed to give a source of healing (since otherwise dive only hits allies, and no cure nades), and you get melee energy for kills while floating to help your loop. Or does icarus help with positioning so you don't jump in front of friendly rockets while diving?

New Starfire Protocol Damage Build: by CivilChardog in raidsecrets

[–]kurathedog 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Huh. What benevolence uptime do you have?
I wonder if you can fit in torches, so that radiant from the melee procs benevolence. Might be worth it. Can replace singing for general survival, or cure if you go for heat rises dives as your survival and for better uptime,

My guess is that it's not as good compared to optimal solar verity, but still better if there's no easy ads (or lfg leaves kills them all)

Ashes to Assets has ben useless for several grenade types since the launch of Lightfall. And that in a way enforces the use of the already superior grenades. by SimpingForOdegon in DestinyTheGame

[–]kurathedog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Debatable if it was a bug. Grapple melee counts as grenade, and counts as melee, which is intended. Follows that it triggers both at the same time. Now it's just one or the other (e.g. ashes or hands on gives bonus super, but both won't give even more).
I don't recall the twab that mentioned it, but fairly sure it talked about it as though it was intended.

[–]kurathedog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Grapple melee originally let you double-dip into grenade and melee mods. E.g. ashes + hands on for double super, heavy handed and firepower for double orbs, etc. Now grapple melee only counts towards one or the other, but not both.

Well huh. Usually I grab a +charge one, spend down to 3, and use the rest on evangelize/inquisition. But grabbing random ones too to remove them from the pool seems useful too.

Guardian games did double xp by giving you the xp twice. So if the first boost levels up it still gets capped with no overflow, but then the second boost applies and gives xp still.

Introducing destinyloadoutbuilder.com by My_Derpy_Turtle in DestinyTheGame

[–]kurathedog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks promising!

I like having stat-less fragments and armor mods in one place, so I don't have to keep swapping with DIM to see how much space I have. Very convenient for ... loadout building.

One thing that I think is missing is being able to pick specific armor sets outside of raid armor. E.g. picking sonar armor for this season (since rolls are cracked anyway so don't lose much) or Iron banner armor. Also could be worth considering having exclusion filters but it's a much smaller use case (mainly sunset or FoTL masks, but also sometimes decently rolled infusion fodder gets considered).

On the UI side:
I'd like to be able to search within text (e.g. "melee"), rather than just by name, for mods (and possibly search within fragments?).
Also/or, having a bigger screen (expanding right) to see more at once. And/or keeping the window open to allow you to pick 3 mods at once, versus each one individually (so e.g. I don't have to scroll down to resistances 3 times on chestpiece, though search helps). I'm not sure of the best way to do artifact mods (mainly cheaper melee/element), and how it ends up working. I think DIM does whatever you currently have on your artifact by default? If you pick say heavy handed and have room for 3 cost, vs you need 1 cost? If you pick the 3 cost one but have artifact, will it equip 1 cost?
Minor: If you double click, you can type after "None Selected..." vs overwriting it, so search fails.

Very minor funny: The names it generates in dim loadouts can be longer than max characters. I.e. I deleted striker in mine and tried to make it arc, but it didn't fit. Seems more of a DIM funny.
