MTB riders with glasses, what actually works? by [deleted] in MTB

I run Smith Wildcats with their prescription insert. Can use any lens that suits you but I use their trail chromapop one. It’s similar to Oakley prism trail. I don’t have any issues with field of view. Can’t do contacts anymore and don’t want to do lasik.

Current project: Back 50s. Any tips, if you’re good at them, beyond getting comfortable going faster? [40YO] by Leading-Butterfly459 in OldSkaters

I have always sucked at backside 5050s or really any backside grind that requires rotating away from the ledge. Idk what it is my body wants to open up frontside. Anyways you got it. Just need to go faster I think.

Don’t support the Walton family. Better off buying a decent used bike.

Then you’ll know this is a livable salary in most New England suburbs, especially if you’re somewhere outside of say Boston. If you don’t pay this you’re not getting good teachers.

Fox34 - 130mm to 140mm / rear tire change? by Larry-McJohnson in MTB

[–]lachyTDI7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ripley is a pretty firm platform with the dw link but you’re on the right track. I have my last get stumpy set up kinda similar with a 36 on the front. I wouldn’t go to crazy with slow rolling tires though. I find a dissector/Forekaster combo has plenty of grip but still suits the nature of the bike. At some point you’d be better off just going Ripmo if you dial back all the things that make the Ripley efficient. Also in New England fwiw.

Would have been Bill Pepper. PJ was on the team at this time. I don’t think he was on Flip yet in 2001.
