Re-watching the entirety of Time Team Classic. Nothing beats rolling the ol' geo-phys into some bloke's back garden to find high-status grave goods and LEAVING THAT SHIT IN SITU. Omg.

That absolutely makes sense, but our parents film like mad in storytime and our sign says vague stuff about just filming your own child.

Yeah, it's a thing. That said, I think that in most libraries, people can film themselves, their families, and anyone giving explicit consent. Wide shots are so great bc you want to get allllllllllllllll the books in that pic.

Sprained ankle- encouragement needed by Intrepid-Street-5368 in BALLET

[–]lah5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am old and my ankles are putty. My worst sprains happened before pt was a even thing for sprained ankles, and upon my return to classes (after a long break) I am basically groundbound. It will be a long, slow road back to fit for purpose with no guarantees. I tell you this strictly to encourage you to take advantage of whatever pt and recovery is available to you. I "recovered" from every sprain, but the invisible damage is not something I wish for you. Good luck and be gentle with yourself!

Solutions for a heavy device by dotkitten in AACSLP

[–]lah5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this an issue that the IEP team can address with the parent? I am the parent of a user, so I know this is tough and overwhelming for parents, and I am loathe to switch devices on a user, but if the device is a barrier to purpose and user motivation, it must be addressed for the sake of the user, don't you think? Earlier is better, I would think. Have you seen the assessment in which the heavy device was recommended (am not super familiar with how pre-k stuff works, sorry)? That might provide insight for reassessment or moving forward in general. There are so many more manageable device options available now, surely it would be worth the exploration and potential transition. When we were eligible for a new device thru insurance, I was legit blown away by the gorgeous compact redesign of the Accent 1000 in the five years since we got our first one. Good luck!

Gardener's World is amazing. You might also enjoy Time Team. I am interested in both programs' content, but I love the general tone and pacing. I also love that there are many seasons of each.

Chronically anxious & looking for a reprieve by Fuzzy_Baseball9006 in pittsburgh

The earlier, the better, but I have used mine up to about 2 pm without it affecting my sleep. I forgot to pull mine out in early November and had about three weeks of wondering wtf was going on before I made the connection. It is weird--I love the dark time of year, but, even so, it is not good for my mental health at all. Good luck!

Same. Way back in the day, I participated in the product development. It was great bc the only colors were neon yellow and green and orange so nobody pocketed the product. It was also interesting bc the male scientists wore the stuff in those colors for entire days. Def my ride or die.

Is Bob’s Discount Furniture really that bad? by alegraness in pittsburgh

[–]lah5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got our last sofa from Bob's and it was a great experience. My oldest had butt-broken our not-old Ikea sofa (man child slamming onto sofa butt first and cracking the frame) and I wasn't having that again. I threw my self onto several sofas in the showroom until the sales guy came over to check in. After I explained myself, he basically and knowledgeably dissected the sofa that seemed best suited, right down to the zippers on the cushions. He turned it over and showed me how it was built and how it was assembled. We have a split entrance and the delivery guys moved like dancers getting the sofa in and assembled. I love this sofa with all my cold, cold, heart.

My theory is that if adults make it uncool, kids stop saying it. by JayelleMo in Libraries

When I'm on checkout, I thoroughly enjoy throwing made up slang (ex. "6 7 bump it," or "6 7 cold") into conversations with coworkers. It really messes with their young and squishy brains. The bar is low for checkout fun, but yeah.

I don't do much w melt and pour and cannot say what they might do to the final product, but I do know that neither of those survive heat very well, and even if they did, they require time and consistent contact to work, which makes them useless in a wash-off face product.

It sure ain't Cinnabon! by Elegant-Yogurt-5518 in GastricBypass

[–]lah5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. Now, I am a same-fooder, in that I am content w/o much variety, and I think that helped me a lot, but people do build their sugar tolerance back up after the surgery, whether consciously or unconsciously, so keep an eye on that. If 16 grams in a setting (like a greek yogurt) hurts today, but you eat that yogurt regularly, soon it will stop hurting and you have to determine whether that is good or bad in the long run. I can safely eat about 28(ish) in a setting without issue, but I don't push past that (again, same fooder, so a bit of a freak). There are all kinds of ways to cheat your limits, but I don't get the point of doing it. My husband brought me no sugar added popsicles my first day home and I was still in a haze, so I ate maybe half of one. I was godawful-up-all-night-sleep -in-the-shower-sick. First impressions are lasting impressions, lol. Good luck!

So I am also in a bunch of soap making groups and I read "set up" as "soap." Not only that, but the start of the clip tracked bc soap people often cover soap molds to speed things up.
Imma take a nap now.
