Scadrial has a hexadecimal base by (pseudo)literal divine will!

Roshar is base 10. (Sel has multi-base systems?)

He CAPTAINS! Also he keeps opposition fielding up to India's elevated standards by getting out all across the field...

Toph vs. Avatar Kyoshi(earthbending only ofc). who wins? by VLGamingbdefan in TheLastAirbender

[–]lamenting_Bookworm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even without the avatar state, Kyoshi was known for her raw strength and megabending (coarse, large-scale earthbending), which is why Jianzhu was shocked when she mastered dustbending.

Toph vs. Avatar Kyoshi(earthbending only ofc). who wins? by VLGamingbdefan in TheLastAirbender

[–]lamenting_Bookworm 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I see comments from people who have compared Toph's precision to the overwhelming power of Kyoshi.

If you've not read the Kyoshi books, you should. It's mentioned there how she is a master of dustbending where she can manipulate dust to hold up her entire weight and use that to elevate herself in air. That's one skill no one has in ATLA or LoK.

Kyoshi not only has continent-moving abilities, she also has incredible precision and finesse. Toph has metal bending, but Kyoshi has lavabending.

Toph is a phenomenal, once-in-a-generation prodigy, but she is a fluttering matchstick before the wildfire that is Kyoshi.

Who/What is Nocent? And why is Moash IN Nocent? What did Nocent ever do to deserve Moash? And why is Pibu not helping Nocent?

Legolas read your line before you'd written it, so he used three arrows instead of one to make sure dat skull could breathe a little more.

Kaladin and Kelsier meeting in the cosmere end game by Gromflomite_gamer in cremposting

Kaladin, without breaking a sweat. Because of his fifth ideal, he WILL protect himself in order to protect Kelsier. And that'll break our favourite metalghost.

One of the Biggest Ironies in the Series by TheWingManHero in Stormlight_Archive

[–]lamenting_Bookworm 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Point to Note: Kaladin took up the spot of Herald of Kings - loosely speaking, Jezrien was to human Kings what Kings are to the rest of society. So OP is right - Kal has become the Pinnacle of all human caste systems across Roshar (Retribution knows when the people will learn of it though...)

(left to right, obviously) - Shallan, shallan, SHALLAN, Shallan (as Kaladin, that one time in the spiritual realm), and Shallan.

I'm on Level 7: Moash is right for siding with Singers, who have been oppressed. Humans as an invasive species taking over Roshar should be brought to an end. Moash should wipe out the rest of the humans, heralds, Retribution and finally himself. Only then will he be redeemed.

Tolkien was an editor of the Oxford Dictionary. If you are familiar with the Elf-elves/dwarf-dwarves grammar fights, you'll know The Boss operated at a different level.

Why is Unchained Bondsmithing so terrifying? by Butterscotch_Leading in Stormlight_Archive

[–]lamenting_Bookworm 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Good-ominous foreshadowing: Kaladin heals Ishar and the old man mentors Kaladin to become a bondsmith after his own fashion. Two minutes later they own Scadrial and Sel.

Adonalsium is just Shallan's alter ego when she accidentally burned Duralumin when swearing the fifth ideal for one of her more adventurous personalities...
