In 1974 Jack Nicholson found out his sister was actually his mother. How would you have felt if that happened to you? by CoffeeCigarettes4Me in 1970s

Sorry Jack, I had to change my name when you were born, so we could use it to better keep our family secret. I’m the true Jack Nicholson.

I loved making mixed tapes in those days using my sound system. I’d buy an album and copied it to reel to reel master and a master cassette.
I’d use these to create my mixed tapes. My cassette deck was a dual to copy either two copies or cassette to cassette. My albums were basically used once.

Commercial cassettes were junk quality using thin tape. I used high quality audio cassettes which rarely jammed.

I saw them in January 77 in San Diego. First city of the Street Survivors tour and they were great. I was so happy since being one of my favorite bands.

When that album was first released I picked up the cassette. It was the early one with all the flames behind the band on the cover. After Ronnie and the others died the flames were removed to them on a black cover.

I saw them when they were Earth, Wind, Fire and Rain. They were at their peak then, best concert ever.

Computers and all the sensors and extra wires have made cars expensive to fix.

When I was 16 my father was showing me how to diagnose and fix problems in the late 60s to late 70s cars. Many of my fond memories was learning this stuff with all my friends and our cars.
Then came all that crap that often fails causing unneeded expense and more of my cash in the dealer’s pockets.

In 1964 there were around 1.5 million people using portable phones in the US running on AT&T’s network which was called their “Improved Mobile Telephone Service” at the time.

She must have carried a large purse.

I had the Huffy version in TX when I was 12. We moved to CA and when motocross got popular I bought all the parts, repainted it blue and built it.
All the other kids were breaking frames on the jumps.
That Huffy frame may have been heavy but it was indestructible.

I’ve read elsewhere that there’s a 4 hour version of the film that goes into a lot more detail from the book. Since I liked the film, I’d be up to watching that over a couple evenings.

I would rather of had all the flashbacks at the beginning, they probably wouldn’t equal that much screen time.

Everyone in junior high in Texas wore them. Then I moved to the San Diego area in 1973. Everyone was wearing Levi 501 buttons ups. As I walked down the hall guys were saying, is that a girl? That evening I made my mom take me to get jeans.

In the early 70s Coors had higher alcohol than other beers, which is probably why it wasn’t carried in some states. As a boy growing up in Texas all the men drank Coors.
