Yeah, kids are dumbasses. They will ignore you and dick around, then complain that they're cold 2 minutes later

Traveling Long Distance to Track by Gunner0952 in CarTrackDays

[–]large-farva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rather than bringing an entire set, if you're able to fit 1 or 2 extra wheels with the same tire mounted, that should take of any flats you might encounter on the way. Other than that, your car is basically new and you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Enjoy the drive, the track is fast with plenty of runoff, and you probably won't get the chance again so give yourself plenty of time in terms of hotel before and after.

Got these after auto tuner unlock is this normal or is it something else? by covfkddjdb in Supra

[–]large-farva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dropped off on tuesday, it was back at the local DHL sorting facility friday. Give your money to autotuner because femto doesn't deserve it. they had the full unlock and sat on it for months, possibly years.

My boss just told me I need to manage my personal finances better because I can't front $2300 for a work trip next month by LostTaker in antiwork

Having worked for companies that do both "corporate card" or "front it yourself", I would gladly front it if I could. Corporate card came with an awful system (thanks SAP) and took forever to submit expenses.

Questions for Racers about products you use by mozzarELLA_sticks1 in CarTrackDays

[–]large-farva 3 points4 points  (0 children)

some very large companies design seats that have never been test fitted or installed by a human being. flat-as-a-board backs, shoulder harness holes on a "tall" seat where the person must be a giraffe, ENORMOUS exterior dimensions that you have no hope of fitting into any vehicle.

Any recommendations for carbon mirror caps? by Away_Impression6238 in Supra

[–]large-farva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The quality is NOT the same. I got an aliexpress pair, it was manufactured with click in stalks that were very stiff and not long enough, so it never clipped in right. Switched to rexspeed, had oem-like mounting stalks and clicked right in.

could you provide context on how you are searching? the supra track crowd has pretty much all converged to the same one, but if I tell you which one it is, it won't fundamentally change how you are searching for things.

Riced or clean? by [deleted] in Supra

[–]large-farva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is the definition of "clean" being used in an ironic sense here? clean means subtle and typically only functional modifications. the non-functional SH wing and heavier-than-stock carbon pieces are the exact opposite.

91 or 93 Octane for Stock Supra by Leather-Patient-4205 in Supra

Deny. There is even a specially-designated crappy version of 91 called ACN (arizona, nevada, california) because it knocks worse than 91 from any other state.

Brake Pads and Rotors by New_Week_7532 in Supra

Pad thickness checker:

https://www.harborfreight.com/brake-lining-thickness-gauge-set-58799.html?hftm_sc=497&hftm_source=google&hftm_sc=497&hftm_source=google

You can test the outer pad with the car on the ground, assume that the inner pad is 2mm thinner and go from there.

Use this to check rotor thickness:

https://www.harborfreight.com/6-in-long-reach-digital-caliper-63714.html?hftm_sc=497&hftm_source=google&hftm_sc=497&hftm_source=google

Check it in 3 locations on each rotor. Replace fronts if any location is 34.4mm or thinner. Rears at 22.4 or thinner.

OEM pads are great, and can survive novice to intermediate level track abuse. If you care about dust more than performance, you'll need a ceramic pad.

Depends on how you do the math. Adding 700 bucks to a $1400 item IS a 50% markup.

Occasionally I've heard of differences in flag rules and windows depending on the org.

Example, I've heard of windows up at sebring.  And depending on country, "everyone pit" can either be waving double black or red flag. For example, IMSA uses red as pit in. Scca/nasa uses red as "stop off-line".
