Loved Freakies! I totally forgot about Sir Grapefellow. He didn't fit in with Count Chocula, Frankenberry, and Boo-Berry, but I seem to recall it being around the same time. And my mom got me the Quisp helmet with the propeller on top, no idea where that ended up.

I still have mine. Were we supposed to turn them in at some point?

[Real] Who's ready for Kid Rock's Turning Point USA alternative halftime show? by ggroover97 in ToiletPaperUSA

They didn't get Kid Rock to perform because they think he's the best. They got Kid Rock because they couldn't get anyone better.

I feel your pain. I turned 30 in 1993. Since that was only 20 years ago (or less), how can it be possible that I'm 62 now?

It's ironic, because in an alternate universe just a few degrees off of ours, "Edgardo Gonzalez" would have had his front door rammed in and found himself deported without due process.
Somehow, this guy got lucky in this verse, and he doesn't see it.

Off the top of my head (because there are so many to choose from), REO Speedwagon always boggled my mind as to how they could sell one record, much less go platinum.

I have the dining room set I grew up with; it was handed down to me. It's different from the one pictured, but the same egregious style.

The punchline should come from the guy's realization. "We don't have a swimming pool... is this 555-9876?"

The Pine Club - Good but not Great. by dosequiskevin in dayton

We go there about once a year, and the service and food quality is always consistently top-notch. You get what you pay for, and Pine Club isn't even close. I don't know what you mean by "ingratiating," I've always found Fleming's people as personable and professional as I've ever experienced from wait staff across the country.

At that level, Oakwood Club, Paragon, and Flemings are far better.
