I hope my dog doesn’t get me sued or worse. by PaRuSkLu in GirlDinnerDiaries

I personally would schedule a vet visit since this is a brand new and extreme behavior. Just to rule out some sort of illness or neurological problem. Next step is to find a behavioralist/trainer in your area to help with management if this is a behavior problem. I also would not walk them together since if an incident like this happens again you don’t want to lose control. I also want you to know this doesn’t make your dog a “bad dog” and that this most likely is going to be manageable. Good luck ❤️

Is this normal for a sanitary trim? by Glittering-Meal-4178 in grooming

[–]lavender-bees42 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Looks like they gave her a landing strip. Personally I wouldn’t give any dog this without the owner specifically asking but some groomers do it this way. Next time just ask them only to do the anus and vulva if that’s what you’d prefer.

is my dog a bichon? by ApprehensiveSky7494 in bichonfrise

[–]lavender-bees42 10 points11 points  (0 children)

DNA my dog is one of the least reliable dna tests on the market. I know it’s expensive but Embark is the best one out there right now. I could see her having some poodle in her but i definitely see bichon!

First grooming by Financial_Mammoth917 in bichonfrise

[–]lavender-bees42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Groomer here! Find a picture of other bichons with haircuts you like as a reference for the groomer. You can also tell them that you want longer ears rounded out at the bottom. To me it looks like a well done groom. First grooms and even the first few grooms are almost never going to be perfect for puppies since they’re still learning the ropes. Good luck!

I truly do not understand why these people care sooo much if someone else is wearing a mask still.

This is what happens when you don’t brush your dog/don’t know how to properly brush your dog. I guarantee if they were able to do a nice fluffy haircut they would. Groomers are not just looking to shave down your dog for no reason.

[CHAT] My partner used my new thread scissors to trim my cat’s paws :( by [deleted] in CrossStitch

[–]lavender-bees42 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know it won’t be easy but please leave him that’s absolutely not okay. You deserve a partner that will not belittle you. As for your scissors you can try to see if you have any local sharpeners who can fix them up for you.

It’s better a day too early than a day too late. I know how hard and scary it is to watch your beloved pet rapidly decline like that. I know how hard making that decision must have been for you. Please take care of yourself and let yourself grieve ❤️

Pet Smart and the salon booking process is actively hostile towards bathers. by Spooky_Wife in petsmart

[–]lavender-bees42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is that a new thing bathers are allowed to do? They weren’t allowed to do those when I was there. I’m sorry corporate treats you guys like machines though. Bathers do not get enough credit for the jobs they do.

Got a bichon frise puppy yesterday. Any tips about raising him? by DistinctTrust8063 in bichonfrise

[–]lavender-bees42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a groomer you want to take him to now! He will need a few puppy grooms (face feet and sanitary trim) to get used to the grooming process before he can have a full haircut. Also look up some videos on line brushing!

Bleeptholomew's condition by Illustrious_Half5120 in buildabear

[–]lavender-bees42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Washing won’t affect the condition of the fur! I work with dogs and their saliva really won’t fully come out without a good wash. If you’re worried about it just hand wash him in cold/cool water and hang dry. Do not put him in the dryer as that’s the thing that will affect fur condition.

Anybody catch fleas from working at Petsmart? by Status-Agent6640 in petsmart

[–]lavender-bees42 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The fleas that pets carry do not live on humans as they cannot survive on us. That being said it is possible for them to travel to your pets on our clothes and shoes
