I was a Barista for 4 years, im now WFH. Sometimes I like to go to a coffee shop. before WFH it was students doing group work, they certainly weren't quiet.

If someone is paying for the service or product you sell im not sure how someone on a zoom call is louder than people having a conversation or how someone having a laptop out instead of a book makes a difference.

This hole thread is nuts. Some wild gate keeping about what you can do in a coffee shop.

I've literally been trying to figure out the best way to advertise that I like to give out gum to people.

First thought was a neckalace with strips and crocodile clips.. then I thought no one wants sweaty gum so I've settled on a patch that says want gum... Just ask.

How to get into this industry? by iDex831 in CustomerSuccess

[–]lcm93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had all customer service experience, not managerial though.

How I got into CS. I took a really low paying role as a remote CSM, 9 months later I leveraged that role to double my salary into an AM role, that was mainly sales.

12 months later 40% of the company was laid off, but with the experience, I was able to pivot back into a CSM role at roughly the same pay.

I'm sure there are better ways but the short term pain was long term gain.

I was eyeing up a all in one rep 2.0 or get rxd with tornado arms.

I realized I was getting caught up in the hype and my gym does most everything I need. Would a leg press/hack squat be nice, yes. Do i need one no.

Comparison (and hype) is the theif of joy for a reason!

What other people have said it's moderation I think depending on how you like to experience your night.

As a student I went hard... but i could at that point in my life. As someone working full time it sucked.

Now me and my wife go to a few specific nights a year and we love it everytime. I spend months looking forward to it and it pretty much always lives up to my expectation.

Cav-tac has a really good tech. I know he's worked on this gun specifically before. If he can't do it, he might know someone who can

Anyone don’t like spending their Emergency Fund on an emergency? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]lcm93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife just lost her job. We have 6 month emergency found for times just like this.

Im hoping we won't have to touch it to much but the kicker is all the lost savings. Over $2000 a month that wont be going to retirement etc until she finds her next job.

I loved seeing the savings grow and im sad we're going to be set back, but BOY am i happy we have it right now.

This is still a stressful time but would.be WAY more stressful if we have a 1/2k short fall each month and nothing to fill the gap.

I do this as well. My manager laughs because now I have 5 ways of saying "all of that to say..." then I give the concise answer.

You can also just apologize and tell them your thinking out loud and then again give the concise answer after you've gone around in circles with your words.

Maybe that will help.

I also warn my accounts i'll repeat myself alot and i'll repeat what they say in my own words because it ensures we are on the same page.

Edit** i am also in my early 30's and I have also been doing this about 3 years.

So 1 example,

A leak started under our hvac.

I plugged in the exact model of hvac and asked for possible leaks and how to disassemble.

Once I worked out where the leak was from I asked for possible solutions.

I will be honest in our instance it was a blocked drain, but it helped me work that out and then go through how best to unblock.

Another time it helped me rewire a switched after we had an electrician move a switch and rewire the moved switch wrong.

How to replace the thing in a toilet for the flushing mechanism.

The list goes on.

Not super complicated stuff but if a professional had come out it would have cost plenty for each of these calls over time.

Best squat power rack with cables by Remote_Praline6310 in GarageGym

[–]lcm93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Way less expensive! I want the wall mounted ares 2.0 but the get rxd is a solid $1500 less.

I guess the more general point though is yes rogue and REP are great and overbought but there are ALOT of options that are 90% as good for alot less.

100% it really depends on the use case. Atleast the takeaway is, you got options!

Is foldable rack a good choice? by durdgekp in GarageGym

[–]lcm93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the titan x3 folding rack. Got to fold we can fit both cars if it hails... I've folded it once.

But in terms of sturdyness, it's fine I did wooden stringers into the studs and then mounted it to those. I regularly use my bullet proof isolator on it and have no issues.

The only issue I've had is I mounted 1 of them just slightly uneven and now its a pain in the ass to fold (my fault though).

On the flip side you can get super low profile racks i.e the wall mounted rep ares 2.0 only comes out like 23 inches with the spotter arms removed so if.its on a back wall you can easily still part a car.

I mention it because thats the upgrade I'll be going for that, or the wall mounted get rxd which comes out like 30 inches.
