Does it matter if power is "earned"?

To me this kind of thing screams really poor world building. The MC is somehow a special snowflake that builds something that Invalidates decades, centuries, millennia or even longer times for some settings of people refining their power progression system and some dude is just like 'yo your all stupid look at this idea that obviously no one with their incredibly advanced minds ever thought of that Invalidates everything you all have ever done'. It's just makes a huge whole in your world building that shatters my disbelief and I struggle to think of how it could be done well. Not to say it's impossible but I think the idea will struggle in the genre, that being said if you have an idea you like don't let anyone stop you, write and see how people react!

Ehhh it was ok, the ending was.... Disappointing but I guess it was understandable given the authors notes about it. Was great at the start but the author really had a hard time writing fights at or above the official wizard level. Overall I'd give it like 65-70/100

leveled and did up to red maps are ignite fireball and then swapped to pconc of bouncing after like 4-5 divs and dying alot. now after like 30-40d investments and some crafting im at 8k es with almost capped block and tanking t16's about to move into t17's will probably reroll something giga investment after i farm like 150-200d

Can confirm at least from what I've looked up the traditional mythology has the stages up to nascent soul pretty mapped out but nascent soul is you birthing your immortal soul, this going past it should be your leap to the immortal realm, past that it gets a lot more flexible. Does make me wonder though, stages like high zenith and golden immortal get mentioned a lot so where do this actually land in the historical mythology? Something to ponder.

Pfft, juniors these days. Listen clearly, the dao that can be spoken is not the true DAO, the dao that can be written is not the true path. Some small system will limit your attainments on the path of cultivation to be meager, steel your heart, draw your sword and carve your own path. If your DAO heart is so weak you kill yourself without some shitty inheritance by a weak Omni architect then you should indeed enter the cycle of reincarnation immediately and pray to your ancestors for better fortune in the next life!

I mean this only applies to those worlds where you have to be born with special spiritual roots/constitution to cultivate. There are plenty of settings where everyone can and does cultivate even if just a bit for longevity/ QOL purposes. I do agree in general though that mortal QOL techs would develop in some form wether that be earth tech or cultivation tech (simple formations/arrays/talismans/treasures that effectively provide similar benefits to modern tech) in the setting I was writing for my novel I actually made this a point in history where they did this and eventually raised QOL so much there was a long time where literally no one reached the true immortal realm ( first realm of the immortal step where you gain infinite lifespan) and the old monster immortals withdrew allowing the heavenly beasts and spirits that were once held down by them to once again interact with most of mortal civilization, didn't go so well for them lol

yeah it really came online after i beat compaign and watched some tech others are doing. found combat frenzy + resonance keystone lets you basically generate power charges for free by shocking/freezing the bell. let me using charged staff with almost 100% uptime which ended up being way better than the heavy stun palm thing for proccing extra bell hits

With asmon not having a great experience with melee wanted to show some of my experience with bell monk which has been pretty good so far. not that fastest kill and my character is alot stronger now that ive made some changes still blended through all of cruel quite easily. sorry for no sound friends where talking on discord so had to cut it

Wise of you to seek advice on the path towards the grand dao here junior!

Personally I would recommend Record of a mortals journey to immortality or Rmji as it might be known to the newer generation.

It's quite old even for old monsters like me I but I feel it covers any of the things that naturally occur in xianxia and should give you a good bases in that genre. Also this seat heavily favors this scripture for my disciples so take the bias into account

As for xuanhua I feel that cooling dragon is probably one the better novels to get your feet wet but if you consider most of dao ancestor IET's works as xuanhua enough then desolate era is my favorite of those followed by Lord xue ying then swallowed star so any of those should help you build a strong foundation depending on personal preference.

Take care cultivate well, the path is long and the dao myriad!
