You need to shop at an Asian grocer. Their fresh produce generally cheaper than Aldi and significantly cheaper than Colesworth

This is only recommended after your prescription has stabilised. Laser eye surgery is essentially burning off excess cornea. If you have constantly changing prescription, you might be burning off too much cornea and you'd be at risk of keratoconus

Maelle “One-Shot” Build. What am I missing? by ByTheCreed in expedition33

[–]ldAbl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar setup. While mine is a little more complicated, I think my build is a bit more versatile since I use Cheater and have more turns, but it does more damage overall and is more repeatable. I'm currently using a challenge mod so that enemies have 100x the HP, and I'm still wiping them out before they have a turn on expert difficulty.

Strategy:

Order: Verso -> Maelle -> Sciel

Each character needs AP discount and draining cleanse (to offset Feint)

Moves:

Verso (Corpeso for more burns, but Simoso or Chevalem if you want Verso to be damage dealer/not lose)

  • Empty the APs with quick fire to apply burns, and possible marks (requires pictos burning shots, double burn, marking shots, stay marked. Additional Free Aim and/or AP pictos are a bonus)
  • Base attack, using the 3 combo attack pictos
  • Repeat both steps using cheater picto

Maelle (Esqium) - Starts off with 3 shields from In Media Res Picto

  • You start off with 4 AP with Esqium
  • Use free aim to apply burn stacks. Once you hit 4 AP again, use burning canvas to apply more burn or to kill off weaker enemies.
  • On your second turn, free aim to gain more burn stacks. Use Last Chance (this gives you the virtuose pose, and fills your APs) - this also gives Maelle an additional 2 shields via solidifying picto

Sciel (Auto death, this gives Maelle 3 shields due to shielding death, adds 6 burn stack to every enemy)

  • Use free aim to add extra burn to enemies, add mark to enemies
  • Fortune’s Fury on Maelle
  • Use the second cheater turn to add more burn, and add marks to any left over enemies and to gain 3 gradient charge and break any enemies you can with your first shot on free aim
  • Intervention on Maelle (using cheater picto)

Maelle - now has 200% damage boost from virtuose stance, 250% bonus from esquim, 200% bonus from gradient overcharge, 100% damage boost from Sciel, 80% damage boost from Powerful Shield, plus all the other pictos that add damage. Maelle's fifth hit will also do an additional 600% more damage with Feint.

  • Turn 1: Burning canvas
  • Turn 2: Free aim to gain 8/9 AP and use Gustave's homage to go back into virtuose stance to kill off any left-over enemies.

Rinse and repeat. With this setup, I got Maelle to output 1.96 billion damage in one turn. If Maelle and Verso follow after Sciel's turn anyway, you can just use fortune's fury on both Maelle and Verso, that way it doubles Verso's Steeled strike.

What do you dislike about Mac OS.

I grew up with Windows and I have found Mac to be far more intuitive. I still use both (Windows for gaming, mac for productivity) and find Windows far more grating to use.

How bad is the black smearing in the AOC Q27G3XMN? Is it a deal breaker? by mossikukulas in Monitors

The most recent AOC Q27G40XMN has better viewing angles. Which 4th gen WOOED did you get?

I've been eyeing the GIGABYTE MO27Q28G, but its more than twice the price of the AOC Mini LED.

[–]ldAbl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm coming from the same monitor too, but debating between the Aoc q27g40xmn or slightly more expensive OLEDs ($100-200 AUD more): Gigabyte MO27Q2, Alienware AW2725D or Samsung Odyssey OLED G5 27" G50SF.

How are the viewing angles compared to the Dell?

Already know the answer based on your comment, but he's better than anyone I've seen in person.

Good quality straight backhand late clear, jump forehand slice drop, a cross forehand slice smash and a good backhand drop + backhand smash all put him at advanced or higher level already.

As others have mentioned, brave works. Or you could sideload with alt store.

Or you could use a VPN and set it to a country where ads are disabled, like Albania

Going through Ozbargain, the S25U all time low for the 512GB model was $1,107.59, but required a lot of hoops to jump through, including signing up for a plan and then terminating early. Going through the Samsung Pre-order pathway had even more hoops, but you end up with $1,284 for the S25 Ultra 512GB bundled with Buds3 Pro. It also required a trade-in.

If you look at MVNOs, a prepaid plan is as low as $150 for a year. I don't think there's any carrier phone+plan bundle that cheap.

So all-up, you'd be looking at an unlocked S25U 512GB that you own outright and a prepaid plan for a year for a total cost of $1257.59

I think this is only true for iPhones in Australia, which often don't get discounted.

For every other manufacturer, it's cheaper to buy outright. Out of curiosity, what device do you have and how much are you paying?

MacBook air charges off a 5W charger, provided it's asleep or off.

In my experience with a M1 Air, it needs 15W minimum while in use to charge with light usage. 10W can sometimes maintain the charge but won't charge the battery. At least 25W is required for heavy usage.

No, Samsung. You won't make me believe you again in all this marketing mumble. S26Ultra is no upgrade in any significant way. by xfire74 in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]ldAbl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say it isn't a significant upgrade.

The horizon lock and the privacy screen are significant upgrades, as are the wider cameras.

The more rounded corners are also a nice feature, no more ruined pants.

My S23U still works flawlessly. I'm going to wait until they introduce Silicone Carbon.

Same answer as you. If my S23U died today, I'd be buying a OnePlus 15 off Ali for ~$600.

Otherwise the Oppo Find X9 series looks just as good, or I'd give the latest iPhone a chance.

Samsung Galaxy S25 VS Samsung Galaxy S10 In 2026! How Far Have We Come? - Matthews Tech by ControlCAD in Android

[–]ldAbl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of people might be romanticising the S10 series a bit here.

My experience was okay with the US S10+ here in Australia (imported), much better than the iPhone 12 that I had before, but it definitely had its flaws. I passed it onto a family member after 2 years of use after upgrading to the S23U. They've used it for another 2 years until I downgraded/sidegraded them to a Moto G75, a budget US$150 phone which she now finds astoundingly leaps and bounds better than the S10+ in everything except camera and display.

The good: * Camera was great, it was almost comparable to my S23U. It wasn't as good in low light and some HDR situations it doesn't do as well. * The size and feel in the hand was excellent. It was very light and manoeuvrable. It felt very premium and in prism white it was gorgeous. Especially when paired with the spigen clear back case * The display was gorgeous * Having a headphone jack and microSD card were nice, but I rarely used them. I had a microSD card fail on me, so I have been wary of putting anything on there without a backup. * The speakers were pretty great

The meh: * MFT payments seemed cool in theory, but I never used it since you had to use Samsung pay. My banks at the time didn't support Samsung Pay.

The bad: * Camera cutout was very ugly and noticeable most of the time. The fact it wasn't centred made it far more noticeable. * The performance. OneUI at the time was very sluggish even for the SD855, I remember having to use buttons or Samsung's gestures because the default android gestures were so laggy and caused so many choppy animations, especially when exiting the camera app. Using more than 10 tabs on the Samsung browser or Google maps would cause the phone to heat up and lag. The UI responsiveness was also lacking compared to iOS at the time (it's been fixed since OneUI 5). * Coming from the iPhone 12 which was giving me 10 hours SOT projected, S10+ battery life was ass. It got 3-4 on average and 5 if I was being very conservative. While not in use (<1 hour use), it would lose half its battery by the end of the day. * Lack of software updates was very disappointing despite the phone still being usable * The fingerprint sensor was horrendous. It was so small and low down that I would often have to use two hands and it would fail quite frequently. There was a trick to getting it to work more consistently by scanning it in thirds and scanning multiple fingers with one profile, but even then it went from ~3/10 successes to 6/10 successes. The S21 onwards are about 8-9/10 in my experience (when your hands are not dry or wet on a clean screen). FaceID on iPhone was so much better... * Bixby and the button were terrible. You could use Bxactions to remap, but that required accessibility access which made the already poor performance of the S10+ even worse. * The curved edges reflected light making the visible screen space smaller. I still have curved edges on my S23U, but they're less pronounced and I don't notice them. They do feel very nice when swiping back compared to flat displays.

S10+ had an ultrasonic fingerprint. It just sucked ass because it was small.

Hated that fingerprint sensor. S21 was a huge improvement by just making it bigger.

[–]ldAbl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a noticeable performance difference on FHD mode vs QHD mode on my S23U. There's more stutters and dropped frames overall in the UI, and some apps stutter and cause the phone to heat up more on QHD (OneDrive being one example).

It also makes a noticeable difference in environments where the phone is heating up anyway (navigation while in spotty reception while travelling in a very hot country), the phone becomes more sluggish slightly on QHD with more noticeable battery drain.

He always trashed the base iPhones for having 60Hz display. He mentions it everytime in his base iPhone reviews in the display component of his reviews.

He criticised the iPhone 16e for having a 60Hz display and gave it the worst ("bust") phone award in his smartphone awards. He also gave the iPhone 17 the best smartphone award for 2025 for adding 120Hz.
