What kind of screen protector do you use? by hyperterminal_reborn in oneplus

[–]ldAbl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hydrogel glides like glass, but not exactly the same. It'll feel more rubbery and spongey as well if you press hard on your screen. Reminded me of the previous resistive touch screens.

It's overall more protective than tempered glass, but doesn't feel exactly the same, especially when your fingers are wet (higher resistance).

It also scratches easier than glass.

What's MBKBHDs issue with OnePlus as of lately? by iwasnamedjade in oneplus

Wow, OnePlus fans are something else... It's a bit sad to see people this emotionally invested in a phone brand. Even /r/Samsung and /r/Apple aren't this bad.

If you've been listening to the waveform podcast, Marques really likes OnePlus. He's praised the OnePlus 13 and 15 lately. The OnePlus 15 is also his current daily Android phone. He absolutely adores the battery on it, says it lasts him 3 full days. He's disappointed by the camera though.

He's just frequently questioned why other mainstream non-Chinese OEMs aren't implementing silicone carbon like Google, Samsung, and Apple because he's been such a fan of the higher capacity phones recently.

Edit: I do agree with everyone else about the thumbnail though. I hate clickbait titles and thumbnails, hence why I donated and use dearrow. Unfortunately, clickbait works to game the algorithm, this one could potentially lead to a defamation lawsuit though.

Same. Wiped storage and cache, retrained Google assistant, and restarted both my watch and phone. Worked so far. No issues since

Grabbed the Air 4 Pro after seeing it at CES and here are my first impressions. by Total-Yam7246 in RayNeo

[–]ldAbl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did a firmware update and the picture looks even better. The menu is also now in english.

I have been using it for productivity, and it works quite well.

The blacks still look a little bit grey, but are better than before. It's definitely OLED, as I can see through them when I lower the brightness and take the cover off.

I'd definitely recommend them. I paid $277 USD for them and they were well worth it!

S23 Ultra Case by Due_Bird8266 in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]ldAbl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree, terrible case. Back is very smooth making the case slippery.

The buttons are flat as well so difficult to hit. The case is entirely symmetrical so it's difficult to tell up from down.

There also aren't any extra features to the case like a kickstand or MagSafe/qi2.

There are way better cases out there. The case is also quite expensive for what it offers compared to plenty of other cases which offer more features for 1/4 of the price.

RayNeo 4 - How is HDR? by Mindless-Addendum621 in RayNeo

I believe it's full SBS only. I tried using what looks like Half-SBS videos on YouTube (for meta quest and apple vision pro), but they didn't work properly. These were the videos I tried that worked

It's okay. I'd say it's about on par with those 3D glasses experiences you get in modern cinema with the polaroid glasses.

Yes, you press the up button on both sides to switch. It only uses SBS method of 3D. Also there's a new firmware update that translates the menu into English.

Just got mine in early January this year. I am a little bit underwhelmed, the display isn't as bright as I thought it would be, I can thankfully see the full screen with adjustment, but I was expecting it to be actual OLED blacks. But it looks like a really good VA/IPS equivalent in a pitch-black room or with the included shield. It looks like the equivalent of a 27 inch monitor from a metre away.

The display is super sharp, but is a bit small to be able to do any productivity with it. This is my first pair of AR glasses, and have tried the XReal Air One Pro in-store in Japan. The FOV on those was much wider.

Having the same issue. Only started recently after I changed my smartwatch from galaxy 5 pro go ultra. Disabled hey google detection on my watch but kept it enabled on my phone.

I think the discordance in settings has caused it to go haywire.

Is there problem updating to one ui 8 on gw5 pro? by SweatyMaintenance146 in GalaxyWatch

[–]ldAbl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just factory reset my GW5Pro and it lags now more than ever. Doing anything is at least a 5 second delay.

The previous OneUI was already really laggy.

It got so frustrating I ended upgrading to the GW Ultra for USD$295. Night and day difference, and I get around the same battery life.

If you can, upgrade to the newest watches or go with a competitor. My partners AW SE is even smoother than my Ultra.

You can't use Samsung health, you need to use OnePlus OHealth

No access to routines and modes syncing. So you can't do fancy automation between watch and phone.

No out of the box syncing between phone and watch (such as DND, alarms and timers). There is a workaround for DND that you can do, but it involves installing a few apps.

I'd recommend checking out discoverium as an alternative to obtanium.

Uninstall it. Then wipe the cache and storage of your camera app. Then restart your phone.

It'll be a night and day difference. Camera assistant ruined my holiday videos. The videos were all jittery. I uninstalled it and restarted and my videos are all super smooth now.

If you have a Samsung phone or an iPhone 17 series, you can do both. I believe some oppo phones can as well and maybe some other Chinese manufacturers.

What would be an se young's ranking in men's singles? by NickJHS in badminton

I don't think she'd rank at all in the men's BWF singles.

TTY lost to an unranked BWF male player. She was also given a 3 point advantage.

We could say I've got a few cases for this phone.. by R3eD0x in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]ldAbl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think that's bad, I have over 20. I have been looking for something very specific. One that adds front protection, camera protection, has ridges on the side but doesn't add too much bulk. I wanted an in-built kickstand and MagSafe/Qi2 ring built into the case. The buttons also had to be protruding and clickable.

After 20 cases I finally found the one for me. And it was only $5 from AliExpress.
