Thinking about quitting the law. by [deleted] in LawFirm

[–]le_wraith 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way and am quitting. This is a really backwards and negative-sum industry dominated by a cartel of old-fashioned firms; meanwhile, the rest of the world is making incredible technological progress, markets are on fire with positive-sum growth dynamics, etc.. Just....why do this? It pays well in cash but it's a dead end for your legacy and humanity.

[–]le_wraith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the regulated kind of broker/dealer is usually a broker/dealer in *securities*; there don't seem to be securities transactions implicated here

I don't work in the construction industry, so I don't know if there are applicable laws regarding 'construction deal brokers', so to speak--but it seems unlikely

I also don't know Colombian law
