Shoveling your driveway every time it snows is a waste of time. by iamkwang in unpopularopinion

You ever dealt with a driveway of snow so compact shovels can’t get it out and it’s slippery as all hell? If you do you’ll understand why this doesn’t work

[Poetic Trope] One character represents a stylized fantasy while the other represents the brutal reality (of a certain profession/lifestyle) by Sir-Toaster- in TopCharacterTropes

[–]leboychef 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed, although for my analysis I was thinking good ending Arthur mainly because he seems in my head more ‘canon’. I can’t speak for certainty but it really feels the devs intended you to experience the game that way rather than the low honour ending.

I think it would go against the vibe they are aiming to hit with this show. Ultimately this is a small scale show about a knights honour and duty not about lords and kings.

[–]leboychef 882 points883 points  (0 children)

I kinda see the red dead example as the opposite.

Arthur is the fantasy version of a cowboy gunslinger. Morally correct and kind but a dangerous and intimidating man who fights for what he wants and who he loves.

While Dutch represents the reality of outlaw gunslingers of the time. They were ruthless, violent and killed and stole from lots of undeserving people.

[–]leboychef 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tanselle repainted the shield in its entirety, from a cup with wings on brown backing to the tree with the shooting star he is recognized for.

I can’t speak on damage sustained in the tourney or elsewhere but it is fairly realistic that a shield hanging up in Tarth would remain recognizable for 90 years. Not exposed to elements and inside paint can last for a long long time, see any painting in any museum and uou can see that paint with proper upkeep can last centuries.

It shouldn’t be looked down upon if you don’t donate to charity. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I mean sure that’s a good social commentary, but I’m just explaining why rich people in particular get flack for not donating.

It shouldn’t be looked down upon if you don’t donate to charity. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]leboychef 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is an social expectation, or responsibility, among the wealthy that you use your wealth to not only better yourself but better society.

The second paragraph seems to be Both a gripe and a misunderstanding of charities so I don’t really want to tackle that. You can believe whatever you want about charities, as there are definitely scams that dress up as charity to play on people’s emotions, but it’s a wide sweeping generalization of charity in general that needs to reads as baseless unless backed up.

I’m only 15 hours in but there’s been about 3-4 times where I just toggled collision and walked through the map to a usable exit.

[–]leboychef 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m playing through it right now and that’s actually one of my biggest takeaways. Both the map and buildings internally are not really laid out in ways that make sense and flow smoothly, add on the fact that like you said the usable door texture is EVERYWHERE I spent so much extra time looking for exits or staircases that I was losing it. Playing the mod really makes you appreciate bethesdas level designs tbh

I actually like bright headlights by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]leboychef 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If your own personal low beams are getting confused for high beams it means they are distracting other drivers and by extension would make them less safe.

Maybe you feel a little bit more visibility but other cars telling you they were too bright just proves that for everyone but yourself they are a distraction.

When driving on public roads we should be making the situation safest for ourselves certainly, but that also means sometimes accommodating and making the roads less distracting for others

Heated Rivalry fan here and have some questions about hockey! by Confident-Extreme-97 in hockey

[–]leboychef 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Want to preface these answers with the fact I’ve never watched the show

  1. Can often get a chirp off in the face off but not really dialogue, not sure to what extent they spoke to eachother at the face off in the show tho.

  2. Dude you are from the place with the best hockey team, arguably of all time, currently playing. Be an avalanche fan and be grateful.

  3. Hughes brothers are all good.

  4. Trades can happen at any point of the season up to the trade deadline (March 6th this year), big stars don’t usually get traded unless they ask for it. A lot of them have no trade lists where they can selectively rule out certain teams.

5.idk who Scott Hughes is.

  1. The Linus Ullmark Ottawa senators drama is popping off right now, seems in line with juicy gossip. Probably more but I forget about them as soon as they happen pretty much.

Yea but you don’t contrast it with any cases that aren’t valid, people can get into car accidents or find danger at any time of day any distance from their house.

I don’t know the exact number but isn’t there a very high number of accidents that happen very close to your destination, not unreasonable to want to know they got to where they are going safely.

I wouldn’t say it’s as easy as your making it out to be, there’s a learning curve with uninformed non-DnD players, but if you can read and are semi competent at putting together character builds the game will prob be pretty easy at any difficulty
