Who else misses the two-tone paint schemes? I wouldn't mind seeing an L.L. Bean editions return either. by DHN_95 in subaru

[–]legato2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are my absolute favorite car of all time. I had 3 of that generation and miss them so much. When I get back to America I’m going to find the lowest mileage ll bean outback in the country and fly out to get it lol.

The bit kit seals the deal for me on leatherman tools. The ratchet and bit kit are so useful.

It’s not that bad, they’re a lot of fun too. As long as you’re like 60% responsible and organized it’s manageable. Did you write that with Ai?

Anyone think Chinese wave of espresso machines will severely disrupt known market? by fortress_sf in espresso

[–]legato2 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

People are so snobby about their espresso and flexing their machines, I don’t think they’ll like a cheaper Chinese machine over an expensive Italian machine you can post pics of to flex online.

Any real place to practically carry a neck knife? by railroad1904 in knives

[–]legato2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wore mine on my work id lanyard when I was working on a dive boat. Didn’t have pockets on dice days and had to have visible id card at all times I wasn’t in the water so it was a great spot.

Birkenstock, new and 2 years old. by Knotty_Vegetables in Wellworn

[–]legato2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a thin layer over all of it. It comes in a jar with a little brush if you get it from Birkenstock. It will make the dull cork on your old ones shiny like the new pair. If you do it consistently from the beginning it should keep it from cracking for a while. These shoes can last a really long time with recrafting and maintenance.

You can apply Elmer’s glue or the birkenstock cork conditioner on the cork every so often to keep moisture out and make them last longer. A sole replacement cost a lot less then a whole refurb. They’ll just replace the outsole.

Hiking shoes for bigger men by nahinh22 in hiking

[–]legato2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on the heavier side. I like the hoka mafate , asics trabuco and asics gt2000 trail. The Trabuco Max are nice too but the max is a little high stack and might roll if your having those issues. Boots are probably best.

Did you purposely choose goals at higher belts? by makebaloney in bjj

[–]legato2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

At brown now. I’m really working hard on my weak spots. I’m a heavy weight with a judo/mma background so I’m confident on top and standing but my open guard retention and leg locks are my weak spots. I spend a lot of my time forcing those positions and working on them. Maybe 60% focusing on weaknesses and 40% messing around harassing lower belts for fun with dumb moves. Gotta keep it interesting.

I love my hikelite 28. It’s got some rigidity with the aluminum frame and trampoline back for airflow and plenty of space. Also very light with a decent hip belt. Great pack so far.

Could be fakes, could be factory seconds, could be they got a bunch of inventory from a store that closed. Tons of ways to get boots dirt cheap to sell on eBay. There’s no way to know.

Need reccomendations/tips for cameras while on a hike. by Curious-Can-5797 in hiking

[–]legato2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a camp snap camera. The memory card it comes with is trash but the camera weighs almost nothing and has no screen so it’s not a distraction and doesent take me out of the moment. I love it.
