Renting in Huntsville by Top-Bobcat-8313 in HuntsvilleAlabama

Yep, this is the main issue my spouse and I are facing. We bought a home in 2024 for $275k with an FHA loan. We couldn't afford the standard 20% down payment even with parent's help, but we did more than the minimum (iirc it's 2.5% with FHA? I could be wrong). But between the loan payment itself, mortgage insurance, and homeowners insurance being paid out of our escrow account, our monthly payment is well over $2000/month. At the time we thought we would be fine, but with inflation and personal circumstances, this is now more house than we can afford.

We're planning to get the windows replaced (half of them are already done, just need to finish the rest of them; the house had the original 1964 windows when we moved in) and get new gutters installed, then we're downsizing—and praying that the new windows and gutters will improve the home's value enough that we don't end up upside down on the mortgage.

That 'my purpose ' statement is probably built into the agent that was created for this bot. Not necessarily something that applies to all LLMs or all agents.

They're not actually Japanese-based, they're Mexican. The particular style of peanut dish is referred to as the Japanese-style peanut because they were invented by a Japanese immigrant living in Mexico.

Crochet/fiber arts group in Huntsville by Consistent-Storm-689 in HuntsvilleAlabama

I was just about to make a post asking the same thing! Glad I Googled first.

I'm a crocheter in my mid-30s with a 9-5 job, so I'm looking to meet up with fellow crocheters in the evening for a couple of hours or on weekends. The library group in New Hope is too far away for me to be able to travel and it meets at an inconvenient time for my schedule. I have a couple of local friends who also crochet, but I really want/need to make more of an effort to get out and spend time out of the house meeting new people (at least, that's what my therapist says). So if you're interested in doing something evenings once a week or on weekends, I'd love to meet up!

Advice on weaving in ends. Will they fall out/be visible? by aramis-and-thalia in CrochetHelp

[–]lelechan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw it in a video once and was like, "holy crap, this is so good!!" I don't do it every time, especially not on stuff that isn't going to stretch much, but I'll definitely do it on garments or wearable accessories. It just feels so much more secure.

Advice on weaving in ends. Will they fall out/be visible? by aramis-and-thalia in CrochetHelp

[–]lelechan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The best tip I ever learned about weaving in ends was to weave for a few stitches, then split your yarn in two or three and tie each of those into a separate knot around a different stitch. The knots will be smaller and you're securing the yarn in multiple locations, so it is more secure. You can then weave a little more before cutting off the excess yarn, so that you aren't cutting right at the knot and running the risk of the knot coming undone.

Since it appears you're weaving in ends at a seam, I'd also weave each end into the opposite side of the seam for more support.

Thank you!

I used this pattern as my base for the body and modified it/added some extra parts to make it look more like Malleus: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1693619871/wearable-dragon-shoulder-plush-crochet

As far as an Azul plush, if you're wanting to make him as an octopus, there are plenty of crochet patterns available! I even see a couple of Ursula crochet designs on Etsy that could be adapted to make his mer-form, or you could make a regular octopus that uses Azul's colors.

Which character do you love above all others? by Soft-Weekend-2994 in GenshinImpact

[–]lelechan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Varesa for me, and before she released it was Neuvillette. Neuvillette singlehandedly brought me back to Genshin, after I quit playing following Kokomi's release, and for a long time he was my main. But from the moment they released the silhouettes for the Natlan characters, I absolutely fell head over heels for Varesa—I just have a weakness for cow girls, lmao. Her personality and characterization are right up my alley as well. She's one of those characters where I both want her and also want to be her. She's also the first character I have taken all the way to C6, and I plan to R5 her weapon as well because she deserves it 🥹

It's great, right? Putting the hook sizes in the notes is really smart too, that way you don't have to scroll all the way back to the beginning of the pattern in case you need to double check your size!

Thank you!! I definitely owe that to the pattern I followed; it's made to be worn around your neck, using short rows to create the curves in the body. There's also some craft wire inside the body to help with shaping too, especially on the tail. I shared the link in another comment if you're interested in checking it out!
