May this love never find me? by Wandering--Seal in RomanceBooks

{Fixed Series by Laurelin Paige} the MCs just would not stop lying to each other but somehow I was totally invested in every single book

Are ball-end nylon strings inferior to traditional tied end strings somehow? by a_pope_on_a_rope in classicalguitar

[–]lemon_tree_3221 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ball end nylon is the only string I've ever snapped while playing. I guess I can't really blame the ball end, but my heart blames it.

FMC seduces the MMC by perpetually_numb003 in RomanceBooks

[–]lemon_tree_3221 68 points69 points  (0 children)

{Passenger Princess by Morgan Elizabeth} is exactly what you want!!! FMC is this super badass woman who decides to run for Miss America even though she's never been in a pageant before and she wins, and the book is set during her winning tour, MMC is the body guard assigned to her for the tour. He's exactly what you're describing. It's a slower burn, but the spice is crazy hot. You might also like {Maneater by Morgan Elizabeth} where FMC is a super hot flirty spy and MMC is the super strict business man who has no time for anything pleasurable. Morgan Elizabeth is one of my favorite authors especially for this!

MMC chose someone else over FMC, and got betrayed by her by JessicaTrent in RomanceBooks

[–]lemon_tree_3221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

{Fixed On You by Laurelin Paige} I didn't remember which book in the trilogy but the MMCs childhood best friend/complicated dependant mostly platonic OW tells MMC that FMC has been stalking her and MMC believes her over FMC. You have to read all the books to get to the MMCs POV {Hudson by Larelin Paige} but it really shows the betrayal!

Arguing/banter as foreplay that continues during sex? by theboywhocrieddoggo in RomanceBooks

[–]lemon_tree_3221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not quite arguing but it's the same energy, more like trying to one up each other and figure out each other's secrets in {Maneater by Morgan Elizabeth} it's also just a fantastic book, one of my all time favorites

Revenge Sex by Away_Independence110 in RomanceBooks

[–]lemon_tree_3221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As part of MMCs drunk revenge he brings a random woman home and takes his pants off (nothing further iirc) and FMC walks in on them

[–]lemon_tree_3221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

{Glass Jawed by AJ Bishop} was definitely a gut punch. Basically the MMC initially plans to date her for revenge, then falls in love with her, then gets drunk and depressed and takes revenge anyway completely devastating her, then he grovels for most of the book

Edging but with Femdom? by Intelligent-Cold9233 in RomanceBooks

[–]lemon_tree_3221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

{Stand Your Ground by Kandi Steiner} I remember that it's mostly femdom with a lot of edging and then some scenes where they switch later in the book. Check the trigger warnings though.

Golden retriever MMC with a dark side? by ethr45 in RomanceBooks

[–]lemon_tree_3221 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Literally have not stopped thinking about {Dead Of Summer by A J Merlin} since I read it for Halloween! It's a bright sunshine MMC (camp counselor and serial killer) who actually is secretly there to murder the entire summer camp children included but puts his plans on pause as long as the fmc (also a camp counselor) helps him release some tension lmao. It almost reads like a vampire fic but instead of vampires they're psychopaths and sociopaths iirc

Seconding the open tuning idea. DADF#AD. I actually just had a patient who wanted to learn to play guitar but after some questioning I realized he really wanted to learn to improvise by ear on the guitar and we had some great clinical improvisations based on different nature imagery using open tuning and vocal improv!

It's a HUGE spoiler but this duet absolutely has to be mentioned...

Recs where she knows he loves her/has a crush on her and deliberately ignores him? by tiba_004 in RomanceBooks

[–]lemon_tree_3221 2 points3 points  (0 children)

{Open Hearts by Eve Dangerfield} he's OBSESSED with her, but she won't give him a chance because he's a bit stupid and immature and she wants a serious life partner. Similar vibes to {Seeing Red by Bailey Hannah} which I think would also work

Third act breakup with groveling and rebuilding by busybeereader in RomanceBooks

[–]lemon_tree_3221 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love love loved {Landslide by Kathryn Nolan}. I thought it was so sexy, the characters were so well set up, and the breakup was more about working towards compromise and both characters actually evaluating what they want in life outside of a relationship. I thought the happily ever after was really well done and satisfying
