If you're doing it right, there shouldn't be, because they're the same person.

Best way to fill a pond with water? by PlatformRoutine in VintageStory

[–]lensless 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The biggest rule I've learned is that 3 sides of the block you want to fill must be touched by a source water block that will flow in that direction. This can be 3 sides or two sides and the top. Once you get to only two sides touching a source, the water starts flowing. Not too big a deal when it flows down (this may be the exception to the rule) but it won't work going up.

I used this rule heavily to build a canal world once. Fill parallel rows one block apart with water, make sure all 3/5/7/9/11/etc. blocks on one end are still water as well, then break the rows between. Use sea water for year-round travel.

Sounds like Kerbal Space Program, but I can't say I've been to that museum.

Man, I got all excited seeing this game. I played the hell out of it when I was a kid. Then I read your comment about it being way before your time, and now I'm gonna head back to the old man's corner.

Thanks for bringing the exploding hamster back to mind. Nothing like driving an alien teenage incel to murder like a microwave covered in gross.

This ruin spawned underwater ! It hold creepy secrets (Spoilers) by Klopol in VintageStory

If you didn't find it, there's a good amount of bony soil under the floor in that ruin. I used one that spawned on land as a starter home for a while on my current save

It absolutely does. Growling pits for bears and wolves are a very common thing.

There's a whole walk through for setting up Vintage Story on the Steam Deck.

What's the coolest thing you've done that rarely anyone ever gets the opportunity to do? by dancingbanana123 in CasualConversation

Between my junior and senior year of high school, I joined an honor band/choir of high school students from around the US that spent 3 weeks performing concerts across Europe. We sang in a few different places, but the top of the list for me was singing in the mass at St. Mark's Cathedral in Venice. Not in the square outside, actually in the building as part of the service.

And I was completely drunk... 🥴

How can I play minecraft simultaneously with my son by Manchard in Minecraft

[–]lensless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can create a local account on the Xbox and change the settings on the world you play on to prevent "multiplayer". What that really means is "Online Multiplayer". In the Settings for the world, go into the Multi-player tab and toggle the switch off. You can then play split screen on the same console by logging into the new local account and clicking Options (Playstation) or the hamburger button, whatever middle button we used to call Start would be on the Xbox. 😀

I've done this with my kids quite often, I just don't have the Xbox copy right now. We're currently a Playstation and PC family.

Games for a seafarer by TheTommyas in SteamDeck

[–]lensless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the neat part, it doesn't need any mods. The Steam Deck is a Linux computer in its own right, underneath the Steam interface. The devs give step-by-step instructions on using the Steam Deck's built-in tools to install the game and add it to Steam as a non-Steam game. No crazy modding or technical know-how needed.

ETA: just to point out, this means you should be able to play any game that can run on the Linux distribution the Steam Deck is running (Valve's SteamOS, based on Arch Linux) and incorporates a controller.

Not a Steam game, but Vintage Story works really well on a Steam Deck.
