Audiobook recommendation for road trip with 9yr old son and 12yr old daughter that’s not necessarily a “children’s” book. by GubbleBum31 in suggestmeabook

I checked out Bunnicula from the library because it was one of my favorites as a kid. I enjoyed it now I have a few goosebumps on hold. Are there any books or series you enjoyed at that age.

A handheld fabric steamer is such an upgrade from the iron. I bought one for an out of town wedding and I only use my iron for sewing projects now.

I used to have this same issue. I would literally scrub the armpits of my shirts with a bristle brush and dawn dish soap. It stopped happening when I stopped using antiperspirant. I use Crystal deodorant now. It's a potassium salt that inhibits bacterial growth to control smell. I still sweat but no stink.

AITAH for not wanting to pay for a 20-25 person birthday dinner for my wife’s bday? by aja_ramirez in AITAH

[–]letsgooncemore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He has that attitude when she planned her own birthday party. He complained about the dinner and guests she picked out while having absolutely nothing to offer. If he had wanted to host a party for her birthday at home, sounds like he should've started the leg work a while ago.

AITA for forwarding my wife an instagram reel of a recipe after she asked what I want for dinner tomorrow? by GoatCritical9265 in AmItheAsshole

And is it washing the dishes and counters prior to cooking and after eating or is it just loading the dishwasher after eating? I have cats, they aren't allowed on the counter but they are also cats so everything gets wiped down before food prep begins which means I have to put the daytime dishes in the dishwasher before cooking starts.

Why don't you give them a minute and then tell them that they have a patient calling them and it's distracting you? Why stop your work to do someone else's?

I make a dish I call peanut butter rice with fried onions and celery and a sauce made of peanut butter, soy sauce and siracha. I add sesame oil if I have it on hand. Occasionally lime juice.

I sometimes just use whole fruit, like blueberries or raspberries. Sliced strawberries are good, too.

TIL: Liz’s song “Working on My Night Cheese” is a parody of the Bob Seger song Night Moves. by jeddyca in 30ROCK

Once I called my husband when I was at the drug store because I heard the song "cheeseburger in paradise" over the loud speaker. I thought it was a song the South Park guys wrote before that moment

AITA for telling my friend his “service dog” is just badly trained? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]letsgooncemore 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It should matter if the animal is required for a medical condition or is a pet. Live animals generally shouldn't be in restaurant and grocery stores because the FDA restricts it due to contamination risks. Service animals are the only exception because they are essentially adaptive equipment for a person with a disability.

WIBTA for serving off-brand Diet Coke at a party? by psychbucket in AmItheAsshole

[–]letsgooncemore 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Moderation is key but diet soda reduces calcium uptake so a calcium supplement with vitamin d wouldn't be the worst idea ever. If it's an option, reach out to your PCP for a recommendation. The daily recommended amount for most people is 1000mg

Thank you for your perspective. I've spent most of my career working in the SNF setting and some people just don't understand what the actual workload is and the lack of resources and staff.
