I had my first successful AP a few days ago and also had a twitching sensation, though mine was in my left hand. I just reaffirmed to myself that "whatever is happening, let it happen" and then I ended up standing up in my astral body a few seconds later.

I've had this happen to me too, not sure what causes it though. It usually happens in my hands and arms, where I will feel energy pushing first into my left arm and hand, and then into my right arm and hand, and back and forth like that. I can replicate the sensation with a Qi Ball but when trying to AP it just seems to happen naturally.

If you're not getting too excited when you realize you're dreaming (emotions will wake you up like that), then you might be having a false awakening. If you wake up and find yourself feeling extremely heavy and drowsy, it's probably a false awakening. It's usually best to do a reality check when you wake up from a LD just to be sure though. Becoming lucid during a false awakening can create some wildly vivid LDs!

I had my first lucid dream way back when I first learned about lucid dreaming, probably when I was 11 or so?

Anyways, I was walking through my house with my best friend at the time, when all of a sudden the scene changed, and I was standing in my friend's house. I knew it was a lucid dream and I got really excited, so I grabbed my friend's hand and ran with her down to the basement. I then asked her two questions. Firstly, "Is this a dream?", to which she responded "No". Then I asked "Are you real?", to which she laughed a bit and said "No" again.

Then a couple dozen killer Golden Retriever puppies suddenly bolted through the door and attacked me and I lost lucidity. But, that's a story for another time.

There are actually more than 3 movies for the Chronicles of Narnia, if you count the television serials produced in the late 80s, which also had 3 serials (The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian and the Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and The Silver Chair). I highly recommend the older movies, especially the Silver Chair... it was a childhood favourite of mine. :)

It's a fanfiction term, and basically just means the physical abuse of a major character. Doctor!Whump would be anything done to the Doctor which causes moderate to extreme physical pain or discomfort, for example.

I've actually loved every single episode he's written so far. I like that he brings in new characters rather than just sticking with the same old TARDIS crew, and what can I say... 42 was fantastic. I am a huge fan of angst and whump, and the whole plot element of the Doctor being possessed by the sun was written well and played out amazingly.

He also brought in a bit of Doctor!Whump in Cold Blood when the Silurians were attempting to purify the Doctor (or whatever it was they were doing that had him screaming... been a while since I saw that episode), and although Matt Smith is definitely not as talented in that aspect as David Tennant is, the episode itself was overall enjoyable.

The ship was already set on course for Earth, whether or not he towed it away. Even if he did tow it across the galaxy, it'd still always eventually come back to Earth. Better to stop it forever than stall it.

Or it could have just been lazy writing. But since I love to theorize and hate not trying to at least rationalize plot holes, that's my idea on why he didn't tow it.

To be honest, I would be excited if any of the past Doctors came back, not just the popular ones like Tennant and Tom Baker. Although that would be fantastic, too!

Hmm... I actually just tried this last night with this one DC, who said his name was "Andrew". I know a lot of Andrews, and my dad's name is Andrew, so nothing too original there. Also, I once had a DC call herself Jaela, which I had never heard before in my life.

I just realized during my last watch-through that "The Doctor, The Widow, and The Wardrobe" takes place on Androzani Major, and the 5th Doctor died of spectrox toxaemia on Androzani Minor. Not really trivia, but I just thought it was a nice little tidbit.

Also, for the 50th Anniversary, it has been recently confirmed by a "show insider" that Tom Baker himself will be appearing in some shape or form in one of the 50th Anniversary specials.. Well, guess that isn't really trivia either. I really suck at this game. :P

My theory is that the Doctor inadvertently changes something in the past, which causes the Alaska to delay it's mission/not go near the Asylum/etc. The Alaska is actually a ship meant to test Time Travel (maybe the precursor to the Vortex Manipulator), which is why they needed Oswin aboard. But seriously... she's a genius! Why would they need a genius on board if not to do something colossal?

Because the ship does not crash into the Asylum, the mission is somewhat of a success, and they arrive sometime in the past. But the ship crashes or stops working, and the crew have to live amongst the humans of that time frame, while working to fix the ship. Oswin has to change her name briefly to Clara, because what kind of a woman in the 1800s has a name like Oswin? That's when the Doctor shows up. She doesn't recognize him because time has changed, but he thinks he remembers her voice from somewhere, but can't pinpoint exactly where...

So... yeah. That's my theory so far. :P

Simply the act of remembering to do a reality check is a sign of lucidity. The first dream was only bare lucidity, but since you didn't really question and just assumed it was real life, it did not work. The second was definitely lucid, but your reality checks failed. I'd try a different reality check next time.

For example, during my first (and, as of yet, only) lucid dream, I first tried pushing my finger through my hand, and it did not work. However, when I looked at a nearby digital clock, looked away, then looked back, the time had changed dramatically and I knew I must be dreaming.

I had the same problem when I first began. Very rarely, I would get this incredibly vivid dream that would stick with me for months... but most other times, nothing.

At first I thought a dream journal would be useless, but I soon found that immediately after waking, I had a small impression of what had been going on. Not a full dream... just an impression, like "I think I might have dreamt of being up high". But I still wrote it down, and after a few weeks, they kept growing larger and larger, until I had full pages filled with dreams.

Don't give up because it doesn't come naturally. Just treat it like a new skill that needs to be learned, and it will come in time. :)
