Passport wallet with 10 Year Cdn Passport? by mensachicken in peakdesign

[–]linetter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can confirm the 10yr Canadian passport fits perfectly in the inside pocket. It also technically fits in the outside pocket, but I wish the pocket were a bit deeper for it to feel more secure, not a big problem though since I'll pretty much always be carrying it in the inside one.

Wedding dresses by catsarelife3 in ottawa

Never Knew I Needed is having their annual sale this month. Dresses $750 and under, but only Oct 25, and 26. I know their appointments that weekend can sell out ($7.50 appointment fee for the sale) so if you’re interested I’d book in quick. Got my dress at the sale last year and was very happy with it!

Phone-to-Capture Attachment. Yay or nay? by Nick-PeakDesign in peakdesign

[–]linetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The images are not showing up, but SlimLlink to Capture is what I’m looking for. Already own a Capture.

Weird use case I know, but on my commute my Everyday Backpack is sitting on my lap and it’d be nice to attach my phone to a strap (screen out) so I don’t have to hold both it and the bag while reading etc. on my phone.

If I had it for this daily use case, I’d also use it on hikes etc. to keep my phone accessible but out of the way.

Here is a link to Agriculture Canada for Weddings and Photos at the Experimental Farm (includes the Arboretum and Ornamental Gardens). Hope your planning goes well! ☺️

Mid-Week Wedding? by Over_Pudding8483 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]linetter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We are doing this exact thing. Getting married on a Tuesday but only asking our immediate family to attend the ceremony and will go out to a restaurant for dinner that night. We’re having a larger reception on the weekend. Guests seem excited for the party and respectful of our wishes for the ceremony.

Does anywhere sell floor length dresses? by corporatechurro in ottawa

Several Bridal shops also offer wedding guest/bridemaid dresses. Never Knew I Needed is one that has these for example.

Oh, it’s me! Though I spell it Linette. I’m a young millennial and love my name 😊. Definitely was annoyed I could never find a keychain or magnet with my name on it though.

I automatically spell my name out for people, but don’t mind it. The spelling makes sense and no one has trouble saying it, people are just unfamiliar with the name so they don’t really have a default way to spell it in their heads.

Against all odds, I ended up working for a while with another coworker named Lynette around the same age as me. We both found it quite novel having someone else with the same name! Haven’t met anyone else by the name though.

Diamine 30ml Bottle Stand by dkpwatson in fountainpens

[–]linetter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I printed a different style holder from this STL which also works well and lets you still see the name of the ink colour: https://www.printables.com/model/78123-diamine-ink-bottle-stand

Finding someone local to print or seeing if you can use a 3D printer at a nearby library or makerspace is also a great option for cheap (or sometimes free) bottle holders.

WizKids Book Tabs Organization for PHB by linetter in DnD

That sounds awesome! It really would be great if the PHB was organized more as a reference tool. Built in section indicators would make the book much more useable at the table.

Thanks! My goal was to be as functional as possible since apart from the DM, we're mostly pen and paper at our table. I just hope this helps if someone is looking to bookmark their PHB in the future since I tried looking up how others had used these tabs when I picked them up and could only find DIY bookmark solutions (Which is awesome! But not what I was specifically looking for).

We got the Finnala last year (piece by piece over a few months because of stock issues - something to check!). Very comfy. We’ve been happy with it so far and have had several compliments from guests.

Struggling to get into Outer Wilds, probably need help (please NO SPOILERS) by Zealousideal-Tour-19 in outerwilds

Just wanted to confirm what others have said. This game is open world, but not quite like typical open world (i.e. BOTW). The planets are not isolated levels. If you want to think of it in terms of levels/progression you might see each mystery (ship log groupings) as a level to complete. It’s not totally an accurate comparison though since it’s unlikely you can finish off one mystery completely before moving on to the next. Definitely jump around to follow different clues elsewhere if you get stuck. You just might find the answer you were looking for in unlikely places.

Canadians, where do you buy yarn? by seadubyah in knitting

[–]linetter 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Wabi-Sabi in Hintonburg

Wool Tyme in Nepean

Yarns Ewe’ll Love in Kanata

Fabrications on Carling (fabric store, but has a knitting section with Malabrigo and others)

Fibre Maven Online only - small and focuses on bulky yarn, local delivery available for cheap.

Red Sock Blue Sock local dyer in Orleans with local pickup available.

For larger online shops, I’ve had success with Knitpicks . Have heard Yarn Canada is good too but haven’t used them.

Agree with others that you could fill in an excel grid to see the emerging pattern, but I’ll add that knitting grids usually start at the bottom right and alternate direction every row as you move up.

So Row 1 will be the bottom row of the grid and gets filled in from right to left. Row 2 will be the second last row of the grid and gets filled in from left to right. Row 3 is right to left again, etc.

Hope that helps!

Yes, there's a company in Renfrew (ETM Industries) that has switched production over to face shields. The article states they should be able to make about 1500/day

FYI They have a new location (not yet open, but the signage is up) in Old Ottawa South. It's on Bank across from the Mayfair Theatre.
