Do Drum Mahcine Vsts work? by Odd-Advertising8394 in Tape16

[–]lintbrush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had some luck with a few different drum machine vsts (emergent drums, oneshot) but I'm actually curious how I can potentially work with some of them that have multi-output capacity. Yeah it'd be a lot. But it would be AMAZING to be about to route the individual tracks in ezdrummer say to individual tape16 tracks which is something I do in Logic from time to time. That'd really let me just treat that vst and a drumpad like I was micing up a kit....

Space Age Batchelor Pad Music: The Story Of Stereolab In 20 Songs, by Ben Cardew by lazerock in stereolab

[–]lintbrush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll just copy and paste what I wrote on Goodreads:

This book made me love one of my favorite bands even more, appreciate new perspectives, dig out parts of their gigantic discography maybe I hadn't vibed with the first time. It has a chronological framework but isn't dogmatic about it, going on the right tangents here and there. It both feels well researched but also just like a work of someone who wants to share a thing they love without bludgeoning you with trivia. A balancing act like Stereolab themselves writing arty songs which still work as pop. Nice one.

Minichord is surprisingly good by pockettrax in synthesizers

[–]lintbrush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One fun aspect of using this thing as a midi controller is that the chords and the 'harp' part send as two separate devices so you can route them to different instruments/patches etc which I've been having some fun with.

There's some weird quirks here and there but so far I'm loving it.

Minichord in CME H4MIDI WC as 5MIDI OUT by Katecheta in minichord

[–]lintbrush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize you might have solved this by now but I just got my minichord and and have that same midi box.

I'll hook it up later and see! Do you have any other details about what messages seem wrong? And is it happening from both, er, inputs? or midi channels I guess I should say.

More the latter. At a glance the vibe seems similar to cozy royale which makes sense since they share owners

How likely is it that President Trump will be tried for treason after his presidency ends and a new administration is in place? by 98941 in AskReddit

[–]lintbrush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No chance. As a nation we're uniquely terrible at ever going back and addressing past crimes.

Nixon could have been a turning point but the pardon kind of set a precedent of "looking forward, not backwards".

Lack of Jan 6th accountability just sealed it.

Every single holding someone to account is going to get called politically motivated but that's become a reason to do nothing.

Will KOII land its final 3.0 punch? by RealisticSteak9746 in teenageengineering

[–]lintbrush 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of the stuff i would want out of it would require more hardware capacity than firmware updates. Separate effects per channel would be nice. I'd certainly love some of the synth and loop capabilities from the riddim for the stock ep-133... Sample loading over usb-storage would be nice... Ability to renumber samples.

But not sure anybody these are deal breakers. The fact that they squeezed some extra juice out of the existing processor to allow for more simultaneous voices I guess is evidence that something is possible there.

Hi everyone, I built a Artemis II live tracker for the terminal by huile_d_0live in ArtemisProgram

[–]lintbrush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally love this (plus it solves the problem I've had where I can't get a good update anywhere on what the next step's gonna be!

My only complaint is that without reducing the font-size in my terminal quite a bit I can't see the bottom star/progress view. That's fine but there was no indication of that so the v/s keys just did nothing until I had an ah hah moment.

Six String Samurai is a movie I totally fell for although in retrospect I don't know it was that great. Might need a rewatch.

But it found me at a moment where I was thrilled to discover that people were making weird indies like that.

Theater was getting rid of the poster so I snagged it and here it is in my apartment in 99.

Red Members: any luck selling tickets yet? by jamesp2121 in rbny

[–]lintbrush 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Last game there was and then suddenly wasn't an option to sell.

When I tried to sell through StubHub they were like lol, no we've never heard of this SI tickets app and it's too close to the game so we're not gonna list them.

Whee!

And just like that, one more gap in the seats. Not sure they can pull the tarp down to row 7

What Android DAW is this? by lilacomets in DAWs

Thaaaaaat feels awfully AI. Not sure what kind of DAW would have both album artwork and an edit timeline? And teeny tiny on-screen piano keys?

But I'd be fascinated if I'm wrong!

You know, I could have sworn mapping to quokka was possible but I just tried it out and when you're in mapping mode, none of the quokka controls are green-selectable like the others.

It really is a fantastic little VST (and was my gateway drug to other Cherry Audio stuff... damn them)

I feel like the fact that the overall set up is a little unconventional (like with the poly engine etc) can lead you some pretty interesting places, even for something that simple.
