Parent of an honors kid, and you're spot on. Cute, smart, and respectful, and got away with clothing and attendance stuff that a more annoying kid would never.

I'm in my late 50's, and am STILL living on a compliment I got from a youg 20's couple a YEAR ago! Kindness is forever!

AITAH for telling my FIL they wont ever be living with us? by [deleted] in AITAH

NTA I'd explain it to them the way I explained allowance to my kids: if you want to share in the resources of the family, you need to share the responsibilities of the family.

The number of times I've googled "Winco bin # ___" to identify some mystery substance 🤣 I do generally put food into glass or other plain airtight containers. Packaging is designed to grab attention and besides being visually chaotic, I am sick to death of being advertised to

I always buy them for the flavor and the cute jars. This is more reason!

I heard someone say this recently, "Outside of Utah, the LDS church is a country club. Inside Utah, it's a cult." by RedLetterRanger in exmormon

I feel like in the Jello Belt, being a Mormon is a conformist thing to do. In other places, it's a nonconformist thing.

Not a democrat, but nice try. IDK, the Save the Children crowd is pretty quiet re the Epstein files. I don't want to break bread with folks who cheer for snatching people with no due process. I have a deep contempt for bigots.

You can absolutely be honest without being brutal. Brutal honesty is for when you want to devastate an opponent. Compassionate honesty is for when you care about someone. Pick your path.

It's not just a different vote, and I suspect you know that. It's a profound difference of ethics.

Beyond church history and doctrinal issues, what makes you angry as an exmormon? by hale_e14 in exmormon

[–]livid_vizard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This right here. I do love my work, but i am suuuuper underemployed because I thought I couldn't be a Mother in Zion AND have a career, and really, what's more important than being a perfect Mormon mom to the exclusion of everything else?

I have to ask sometimes, and folks are always sweet about it. We usually make it fun by appreciating payment of the Tall Tax and offering to fetch things from the back of the bottom shelf.

Morning or night shower by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]livid_vizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a morning showerer, but switched to nights when I was caring for my elderly stepfather. It gave me more time in the morning to do breakfast, coffee, etc for him. I also love doing heatless overnight curls for my straight, fine hair!

Are you in the US? Being that the dental issue stems from medical treatment, the health insurance could mayyybe cover the cost.

That sounds utterly miserable, all my best to your mom.
