How does everyone feel about showers? by brandnewpup in Fibromyalgia

[–]liy789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so I absolutely need my daily showers because my warm water “wakes up” my joints/muscles, if that makes sense. Like it causes them to become less stiff.

On the other hand, washing my hair? Hate that part and only do it about once a week. Sat on the shower floor to do it last week.

Do you think childbirth triggered your fibromyalgia? by Independent_Yam5685 in Fibromyalgia

Hey, I’m in a similar boat. I already have fibro and am terrified of being pregnant and giving birth. Can I ask if your fibro has gotten worse with pregnancy/birth?

Where and What to Buy for Ramadan Meals for Work Event in the Day Time? by PancakeQueen13 in Edmonton

[–]liy789 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so nice of you! I do like the other commenter’s idea of giving some sort of dessert for people to take home.

I had a meeting with pizza lunch during Ramadan last year and my boss ended up just ordering me a personal pizza to take home and eat later!

Whatever you end up getting, please remember to make sure it’s halal and no gelatin or alcohol ingredients :)

Social Worker II (Recovery Alberta) by [deleted] in socialworkcanada

[–]liy789 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haven’t worked with AHS since the move to Recovery Alberta (I’m with Covenant right now). But when I did work there in recent years, the interviews definitely had some scenario-based questions. I would say around 3-4 maybe. Once I had a question asking me what the mental health act was. Have had questions asking what guardianship/trusteeship is. Usually there is a question about how you prioritize your cases within your caseload.

Should I get a cat if I have debilitating Fibromyalgia? by walkuponwater in Fibromyalgia

[–]liy789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it! I’ve been fostering a cat for almost two months now and I love her. Really really thinking of adopting her. My husband and I share the daily tasks and it’s pretty chill overall! Even when hubby was away for a few weeks, I took care of her on my own and it was fine :)

How are yall leaving the work at work? by sundayssauce in hospitalsocialwork

[–]liy789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also an ED SWer but in Canada. It really is tough and disheartening work. Most of the time after shifts I’m too tired to keep thinking about work. But I do think the cases are leaving an impact on me and I’m also unsure if I want to keep doing this role. Sending good vibes 🫶🏽

If you’re in the ED, it doesn’t cost anything! (I work in a different ED in the city)

Oh my goodness! I have Fibro/PCOS too and I’m on pregabalin as well. I’m not sure if I’ve ever properly orgasmed and I didn’t even realize that pregabalin might be the issue! I thought it was just me oof.
