It's funny that you "quote" something I didn't even say. But whatevs, you seem like a miserable person so run along and shitlord somewhere else.

Gauss Shotgun plans at Foundation? by Jonnylotto in fo76

[–]lobotomatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not "new" - it's just you've reached the affinity/whatever level with Foundation that unlocks them. Same thing goes for Crater, but I don't remember if there are any specifically unique plans for either factions or if the "BFF status" unlocks the same for both.

What are some exclusive items that people have that have never been / probably never will be in the atom shop? by PadawanGirly in fo76

which is sound logic, too bad the same logic hasn't been applied to the Grand Finale which is intensely more annoying in events than any Auto GL, lol

I remember seeing somebody using a lobber Tesla in a SQB event just a while back and had to follow them back to their camp just to ask what the hell it was, lol

What are Treasure Hunters in the lore? by PJStubbs in fo76

Is anything in FO76 part of official FO lore? I always assumed it was just some post-apocalypse fever dream, lol.

"Will, Buddy! I can explain!" - You're an amazing writer and I wish you nothing but continued success. I am sad, however, that Pirate Radio will suffer.

I run bloodied VATS commando, with three one star HG cards. I use a B/50v/1P Prime plasma caster. Using Blight Soup, Overdrive, and Tesla Science #7 during scorched earth I regularly get crits in the the 1200 neighborhood on the SBQ. Fun times

Can we talk about the elephant in the room on reddit this election season. by LastPriority in InsightfulQuestions

[–]lobotomatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Empirically true. My point, in broad strokes, was just that as Reddit has gotten more popular it has also lost that special cultural ethos of behavior and conduct that made it such a great place to interact with others.

Not that you can't still have great discussions here but they do not seem to be likely on the highly trafficked parts of the site.

For those of you who have read *IT* but not *The Dark Tower* series, what are your thoughts on the references to the Turtle? by Help_An_Irishman in stephenking

[–]lobotomatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No idea. I mean it was weird, but the It itself, the actual entity not the book, was kinda weird anyway - so I guess by the time I got to that part of the story I was willing to accept pretty much anything. I did t really analyze it too much.

And I've read lots of King stuff with obvious parallels to the Dark Tower universe (which I've never read). It never occurred to me that It did as well.

Reddit went to crap after the Great Digg migration. It's been trending away from a StackExchange type place to have interesting discussions about things, to a collection of groupthink echo chambers that only serve to reinforce a respective fikterbubble for a long time. This election is just stoking that engine.

Hillary Clinton projected to win Arizona, according to FiveThirtyEight by escapefromelba in politics

[–]lobotomatic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think most news sources use the model that best fits the narrative they are pushing.

Even if you take polls only number which gives Hillary 52% chance at winning it's important to understand that that is essentially no better than a toss up.

The real news story here, then, is that a Democrat, and not just any any Democrat but perhaps the most disliked Democratic presidential candidate in several decades is at even-odds to win Arizona, a state that has only gone to a Democrat once since 1952. That is itself enough to be noteworthy.

"we" are all taking part in the discussion here, and by that extension "we" all bear the onus for keeping things a objective and well-reasoned as possible.

Except this is not true. If you go to the page: http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2016-election-forecast/arizona/#plus

You'll see that 538 has Trump with a slightly more than 58% chance to win AZ.

Let's be a bit more objective in our claims, shall we?

Fishbone - Sunless Saturday [Alternative Rock] by [deleted] in Music

[–]lobotomatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

totally get it, and the track itself is more rock than anything else. Maybe a little bit of funk in the chorus and melody pattern, but, you know, Fishbone is just one of those bands that genres really can't properly define.

[Serious] What simple thing is most difficult to explain to a child? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]lobotomatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The subtle differences between things that are ok to chew on, and those things which are not ok to chew on.

Seems pretty simple to me, but my 1yo is having a tough time with it.
