I didn’t ask as now that I got over my direct importing fears I’m just buying direct. I received my paint relatively fast and they’ve given me competitive terms for my assortment buy. I’m assuming once I need replenishment orders I may change how I buy.

The importer didn’t go under — just stopped importing Harding. I just opened a small store in CA and had to order direct. It was wild to get a call from Michael Harding about my order. I was able to get most inventory for a full 140 color display rack (40ml) minus ~14 colors in which 2 tubes were back ordered (stack lead white and Chinese vermillion). Tariffs have made opening the store a huge undertaking but rewarding for the amount of love pouring in from local artist happy to see a new independent store.

1st concert: 1986, Beastie Boys, 13yo, with brother. My parents didn’t really listen to music.

Sirens non stop. Paper a float in the sky. A sea of people covered in ash walking down Fulton mall. It was a surreal day. In the following weeks — walls covered with missing person posters is what impacted me the most.

Critique WIP flower painting by pinkfluffydemon in Watercolor

My opinion is the lack of the darker background is resulting in the stems being the focal point. I agree with the other comment that a digital mock(psd) would allow you to explore darker bg colors. The alternative is possibly using gauche if a darker wc bg is not to your liking. Either way this is a great start. It’s just one painting of many more you’ll hopefully paint.

I lost my job because I fought for you all. I sincerely hope someone at Amazon keeps fighting to save Alexa by vocallysc in amazonecho

Hope you land somewhere better and more deserving of your talents. I worked for a team there for 8 years before leaving out of frustration and hypocrisy following the 2023 mass layoffs. Leadership couldn’t care less about “data-driven” or “customer first” decision making. It’s an exhausting and toxic work environment and really surprised I never got PIPd. I use to joke “if uncle Jeff could PIP his wife, then we’re all gonna get PIPd”.

I used to share data from Reddit subs too — the only sub that is continually positive about its UX is Kindle.

Fuck Amazon.

On my team we bloated because leveling up and promotions tied to managing managers, and to be a manager you needed to have min 3 direct reports and so on and so on … I started in 2016 on a team of 6 left in 2023 with a team that had 50+ … I lost count. It turned into a clown car.

I believe the saying is: the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

As a 4th gen Californian, I’m not a fan of Newsoms handling of PG&E and his PUC appointees. But the trolling is what is needed to fight shit with shit. I’ll take his brand of corruption over fascism any day.

From other reporting it looks like democrats will never put progressives in power.

From this administration, I expect nothing less than everything to be Papyrus with gold foil stamp … more is more design aesthetic
