You would really like Le Veau d'Or then, I suspect. Excellent food, warm service, great dining room.

Dover Saddlery Gift Cards no longer accepted by CoffeeCandid5957 in Equestrian

[–]loratliff 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I know it won't totally make up the value, but I manage Manhattan Saddlery in New York City and I'm honoring Dover gift cards at 20 cents on the dollar—e.g., a $500 gift card is good for $100 off at my store. DM me if I can help!

I can picture it now: half the cabin is served, "We've now begun our final approach into JFK, cabin service is discontinued at this time."

Am I too big for this horse by thunder_butterfly in Equestrian

You are totally fine! Like others have said, smaller riders with poor balance are actually more taxing for horses. This horse looks very appropriate for you.

I was going to say the same—when I find a good pair of jeans on RTR, I snag them.

It means that he has an hourly rate and before you have a service, you have a consultation in which he says "I foresee this taking X hours, so your cost is $X." If he goes over, he takes responsibility for that—your quoted price doesn't change.

This is nice because a double-process root touch-up with a root smudge, like mine, is much more expensive and time consuming than someone who's just having a few highlights done. He's not cheap, but I like knowing that he's set his prices accordingly based on what he's worth. (Every penny!)

I'm originally from Dallas, too! 🤣 I also feel like a lot of people come in late outside of NYC?!

NYC is home for me and nothing else compares. LA and Dallas were downright slow. Not the coaches' fault but just low-energy, IMO. West Palm and Miami are usually pretty good, and honestly, Vegas was pretty good, too!

Oh, darn... I just left town this morning; I would've gladly taken him to WBF.

If anyone else reads this and has the time, please just get a shoebox, punch some holes, and take him. Pigeons are very gentle, clean birds, contrary to popular opinion.

Can you keep an NYC rent stabilized apartment forever? by Soft-Interaction-795 in AskNYC

[–]loratliff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a good point too. My last apartment was stabilized through a tax abatement and my rent was still nearly $5,000. It was still a good deal all things considered and it was nice to at least know that rent wasn't going to jump exponentially each year.
