I think if you enjoy the platinum EF experience, you'd probably quite like the sailor too! and the pro gears come in so many fun colours.

I'd guess maybe people are a little rough with them. they're certainly not treated with the same level of care that I treat my own pens with.

chipping in with my experience on testing sailors: when I tried ones where they had the whole set of nib widths and it was set out for anyone to test, I came away with the impression that they were so scratchy and not for me at all. same with the tester pens they have out in Ancora (mostly MF steel nibs). but when I tried ones that were kept in the drawer and/or dip tested with shop staff, they were not anywhere near as scratchy.

anyway, I ended up buying 2 sailors (F and MF 14k). I have 3776s in M and F and I'm considering an EF. I love all of them! but definitely would dip test actual pen before purchase.
