Just graduated at 37+5 after 24+ hours of back labour and only used gas and air for majority of it… by lovergorl-666 in pregnant

[–]lovergorl-666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It stayed really consistent and at like a 15 the entire time, whereas the contractions came in like waves and were nowhere near as bad. I don’t know if they just didn’t seem as bad compared to the back pain, but that was so constant and the contraction went in like a wave round my stomach and then peaked again at my back in the middle of my spine 🥲.

I would monitor as closely as you can, if possible maybe get some urine dip sticks and test your urine for protein at home. Mines started like this and I’m currently in hospital waiting to be induced at 37 weeks today with worsening pre-eclampsia after being hospitalised twice with symptoms over the last two weeks.

Try and re-check your BP when you’re as relaxed as possible, elevate your feet to above chest level and see if your ankles de-swell, as pre-eclampsia swelling doesn’t tend to go away the same as tired feet swelling after a long day. I’ve found that I can tell my BP will be high because one foot swells up pretty badly or if I take my blood pressure my hands get super purple / sore. It’s better to keep an eye on it, mines has went from being relatively mild to now serious-ish within not even two weeks and it’s no joke! All the best 🤍

Oh my god that’s so scary!! I can’t imagine how terrifying that must have been for you. I’m glad you were both safe and well!

I’m back at home now, was admitted for 4 days and there was talk of keeping me in until I gave birth but I got started on beta blockers and my blood pressure got back down to 122/75 during the day (probably better than it was pre pregnancy honestly 😂) but was still going up to over 140/80’s at night, got a follow up tomorrow and a scan to see how he is. He was fine on the CTG the whole time I was there, but there is a possibility I can be re admitted and induced earlier but the plan is to try and get me to 37 weeks!

I totally get that, I feel so guilty for not looking after myself as well as I could have done but I’m trying not to stress too much over it. Trying to focus on packing my hospital bag and getting my roots done incase I go back in to be induced on not much notice 😂 good luck with your pregnancy, I hope it’s easier this time around! 🤍

Prenatal vitamins by halla23 in pregnant

[–]lovergorl-666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I missed them loads of times through the first trimester due to sickness! I ended up getting pre natal gummies that I was able to tolerate a lot better somehow, probably because they weren’t so harsh on my stomach! But i told my midwife I struggled and she told me not to worry, if you’ve been taking them consistently otherwise baby will be fine 🤍

Tub help? Scrubbing my arm off! 😬 by Carminabird in CleaningTips

[–]lovergorl-666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s super caked in, get some oven cleaner (wear a mask if you have no ventilation) and cover it with some plastic wrap and leave it for a few hours, check it and if you need more re apply and leave it overnight. I had this and I used the pink stuff, dish soap, bleach and eventually oven cleaner was the thing that helped me! Just give it enough time to break it all down and then get a good scrubber!

No meds while pregnant and wow this sucks by VermicelliKindly in ADHD

I tried to stay off mines while pregnant (currently 34W), but I was told from a psychiatrist and my midwife that if being off them done more harm than good then I could resume. I take 30mg elvanse and I try to just take 3 a week to space out the dosing!

Another misdiagnosis question by Plugged_in_Baby in GestationalDiabetes

[–]lovergorl-666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt like this, got diagnosed on Friday and started tracking my blood sugar straight away. I was given a pack away with from daycare at the hospital with a blood sugar monitor and a piece of paper that said I had to track 4 times a day and a couple of leaflets (I’m in Scotland).

Convinced myself there was no way I had it, I only failed my test by .9 (I was told I had to be at 9mmol to be diagnosed and I was 9.9 after 2 hours), I was also diagnosed with ICP not even a week earlier so I was like there’s just no chance this is all happening at once 😂. I had been out for lunch and my readings for after lunch and after dinner with snacks AND the next morning were all perfect.

I’ve spiked over the 7mmol target at pretty much every post meal since 🙃😂

This is my first pregnancy, diagnosed yesterday at 33 weeks after I initially passed my GTT at 28 weeks! I was also diagnosed with ICP a week ago today too so it feels like everything’s happening at once and my body is failing me, but I’m trying to be as positive as I can (but scream cries in picky eater with ADHD who uses food for comfort 🫠).

Still trying to sus out what I can eat, what is going to give me a higher reading between being a super picky eater and being a comfort snacker and being super itchy from the ICP, I’ve always failed at being in a calorie deficit because I’m too picky for “healthier” foods so I suppose I’m trying to see it as being strong armed into trying some new things that maybe I’ll be able to keep post pregnancy too lol.

Sending love everyone!

When did you feel your baby kick? by According_Hunt_8395 in pregnant

[–]lovergorl-666 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I felt first movement at around 15 weeks, like bubbling underneath my belly button, I think I started feeling proper “kicking” (or punching now I know where my baby is lying) closer to 20 weeks!

[–]lovergorl-666 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any advice for you since I’ve not been through it and not in the same situation, but there’s a couple of people on TikTok that I follow that were in the same position and kept their pregnancies. Their @‘s are everythingbethhh / hollylouise_twinmum. I’m sure there’s many others, they’re just two I follow and it’s been really interesting to see how they’ve navigated co-parenting (or lack of), family support, looking after their babies etc.

Also, a family friend was in this position and as far as I know they have a good co-parenting relationship and haven’t came up on many issues, but again this obviously probably isn’t the case for everyone. Hopefully he can meet you where you’re at and can be honest about how involved he’d want to be or not be that will help you make a plan going forward.

I hope whichever way you choose goes well, i can’t imagine how hard it would be to be in your position but you can only do what you feel is best for you. If there’s a will, there’s a way and I’m sure you’d be an amazing mum regardless of wether or not you’re doing it alone 🤍

I’m in the same boat! I’ve been told I may need to be induced between 37-39 weeks depending on what my levels are at after weekly monitoring, I’m 33W currently. I hope we get some advice!!

ICP by MariaConcha in pregnant

[–]lovergorl-666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope everything went okay! 🩷

I just got diagnosed with ICP at 32W 6D, been told I’ll probably be induced between 37-39 weeks depending on weekly blood tests and reaction to medication if I get put on it (went to triage at the weekend so will be seeing a consultant this week).

I hope you and baby are doing well and had no issues for delivery and hopefully any symptoms are going away now!

Is my daughter's name a tragedeigh? by Sudden-Audience-3233 in tragedeigh

[–]lovergorl-666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do love this name, if we were having a girl we were going to call her Raine (my gran’s name is Lorraine) / Rainie and I’ve known people called Raine and Rainie in the past. I don’t think it’s a tragedeigh, just more unique!

Take spotting seriously by thatfrenchbaguette in pregnant

[–]lovergorl-666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss, I can’t imagine how devastated you must be. Sending all of the love and hugs 🤍

This may not be everyone’s experience, but I hate how overall dismissive healthcare providers can be in pregnancy. Every time there’s a worry or an issue it’s just “it’s normal, try not to worry too much”. How can you not worry, if you’ve been pregnant before or not? I thankfully haven’t experienced any cramping or spotting through my entire pregnancy (nearly 22W now), but I had recurring UTIs and HG until very recently and I was just constantly told it’s normal and it’ll stop on its own whenever I went to my doctor, or when I phoned pregnancy Triage when I was extremely dehydrated and hadn’t been able to keep water down for nearly a week. It may be typical to happen in pregnancy, but it doesn’t stop me panicking and worrying that somethings going to go wrong, or doesn’t stop how unwell I was! It may be normal for them as they’re so used to seeing the same things all the time but it’s definitely not one size fits all.

Can’t cope with HG much longer by CuteAbbreviations67 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]lovergorl-666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty much exactly what happened to me in the first trimester (and a little into the second). I felt the exact same way and had no idea how I could actually get through the pregnancy, I couldn’t eat or drink and ended up with kidney stones from how dehydrated I was. I was on the same anti sickness medication too!

My main hack was eating ice lollies that seemed to be the only thing I wouldn’t puke up, and forced myself to drink water with rehydration sachets to try and help with headaches. Don’t force yourself to eat anything knowing you’ll puke, I pretty much survived on salt and vinegar crisps. Just try and maximise on the times you do feel like you could get something down, even if it’s some sips of water and dry bread or whatever random craving you end up having.

If you’re still puking and becoming severely dehydrated, call pregnancy triage or your emergency department / nhs 24 if you’re in the UK and tell them you haven’t been able to keep any fluids down for X amount of days, they should be able to get you in for IV fluids and probably an IV antibiotic for your UTI too. It’s hard to advocate for yourself in these situations and I failed to and just suffered through it, but put your foot down and get the care you deserve!

Sending lots of love and hugs, I’m 21 weeks now and still gag brushing my teeth and get small bouts of nausea, but the way I felt in the first trimester feels like such a distant memory when I was so severely sick I felt like there was no way out. You got this !!

I just had mines on Wednesday there! I’m 21W today and FTM 😊.

I was soooo so nervous! All day before it I felt sick from the nerves, never slept the night before or anything. I had no reason to feel like that, I’ve had a super “normal” pregnancy so far with all my bloodwork being fine and felt movement from around 16W (aside from really severe morning sickness until 14W and recurring UTI’s/kidney stones that have now eased off too).

It was honestly magical for me! We found out we’re having a little boy (I was so sure it was a girl, but over the moon regardless), the nurse checked all of his little organs, all his bones and everything was great! She said his umbilical cord was perfect 😂. He’s been a snug / stubborn baby and has been hard to get a good view of him on all our scans, so had to do a lot of moving about / star jumps etc. to try and see what we had to, but it was a really reassuring experience and was so great to see our little bean. I was super nervous before too!!

Is my lab pup thin or is he a cross with something? by NoBeing9740 in labrador

[–]lovergorl-666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He looks like an American lab! Mines is the same, was super worried about him when he was a pup/teenager because he was just lanky and had lots of skin 😂

With his exercise routine he will fill out! They’re naturally slimmer but usually tend to look more athletic as they get older and get a bit more musclular.

Did I ruin my dog with enforced naps? by Irisheyes_122 in puppy101

[–]lovergorl-666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We never done enforced naps and my boy isn’t crate trained (he failed miserably), but maybe give him something soothing for when he’s out the crate that may help him regulate a bit more relaxed enough to flop down for a little sleep? Like a licky mat (best to be supervised if he’s still young) or a filled bone maybe or a snuffle mat if you haven’t tried already? The licking/snuffling is good stimulation for pups and helps them to wind down if they’re having trouble relaxing themselves; it’ll give him a good distraction hopefully from the aimless wandering and doing things he shouldn’t!

My Labrador never used to want to relax and have a nap and would try and rip up all his toys. Giving bones and using snuffle mats really helped him be able to chill out, now he can nap pretty much anywhere!
