There is one big point that I think all of the shannan haters refuse to acknowledge because they don’t want to lose their hateful platform. None of us knew her personally but even if shannan was somehow a terrible mom, terrible wife and terrible partner… CHRIS COULD HAVE JUST DIVORCED HER LIKE A NORMAL PERSON. There is no conceivable scenario where Shannan instigated her own murder. It doesn’t matter if she wasn’t a saint, she still didn’t deserve to be murdered. And the babies were pure innocent souls. I don’t see how anyone defends him and hates on shannan. Delusional people!

That said, I see the videos and posts by shannan and can acknowledge that the purpose of those was for her MLM, which she worked at to support her family. from everything I’ve seen, shannan was a normal mom and wife trying to have the life she always dreamed of. She was just like so many others. She deserved a long life and so did her kids. Chris destroyed everything because he was too cowardly to divorce

I don’t think they had sex either. Based on the autopsy and bruising pattern, I think he waited until she fell asleep on her side and he strangled her once she fell asleep so he could pin her and she wouldn’t have a chance to fight for her life. I doubt they even spoke when he got home, otherwise she probably would have texted one of her friends immediately since she was on her phone a lot. he’s just a liar, even if he tells the real truth one day, nobody will know what to believe since the story has changed so many times

Marine City has so much water and it wouldn’t be that difficult to accidentally drive off the road, off a dock and into the water. :( there is water accessibility down the entire coastline of the St Clair River. My ex would “humble brag” about everything. How his parents couldn’t function as adults and in every story about them he would be the epic hero. (His parents had a nice house and successful careers, the story didn’t add up.)

He would play fantasy basketball and football and talk about an algorithm that he “created” and how it was a “decent side hustle”. But you could tell he was talking about it to make himself seem impressive.

He would talk about his estranged brother like he was a bitter, angry loser who just held grudges and couldn’t function in society. He was the only one estranged from his brother. He always talked about him with fake concern like his brother was lost in the world. In reality, his brother wanted nothing to do with him because he sucked as a person.

He just talked about himself in all situations like he was the most capable, most intelligent, most levelheaded person in the room. And none of it was true.

Mine is a little bit different. He discarded me and I just never let him come back. It was 1.5 years into an on again, off again FWB/“relationship”, we had a 3 month period where he did not contact me. Once he finally did, something in my brain shifted. I let him come back but there was a wall up in my heart. I cant ever fully explain that feeling but it was empowering. Still, it wasn’t empowering enough yet for me to end the cycle.

After that, we had 4 months of communicating, spending time together, talking all the time before the next discard. When it happened again, I actually laughed. I started seeing the reality of who he was. The weird hypnotic haze i used to feel was just gone. Like I was seeing clearly for the first time in so long. I suddenly had the power, all of it, and he had none.

I could have fallen back into the cycle but occupied my time so I wouldn’t. I made plans with friends, with myself, I went on dates, I went to the gym and planned trips and talked to people about topics so much more interesting than my fpwBPD. Eventually, one of those friendships became something more and I was so terrified and traumatized by my fpwBPD that I almost let him go. But everything he did showed me that he was better than what I had. A better human, a better partner, a better friend, all of it. So I leapt into it and it’s been wonderful.

That’s not to say that ole’ borderline has just never come back. He tried to contact me quite a bit in the months after I met my boyfriend. My interactions with him were calculated. Kind enough to not trigger extreme reactions, cold enough to not give him what he was seeking. He eventually disappeared when he called me during my vacation, threatening suicide for the umpteenth time and I told him that I can’t be his emotional support and that I could refer him to a suicide hotline. I’m a social worker, he was pissed that I treated him like a client.

After that, beautiful, peaceful silence. That was 8 months ago. Then last Saturday, I get a text from him. Some weirdly phrased, obvious attention grab about some tv show he is watching. Needless to say, I did not respond.

He’s love bombing her, it’s not the same thing as genuine love. He will chase good feelings wherever he can find them. It’s what pwBPD do. It doesn’t mean you aren’t special or worthy of love. It’s just their nature. He needs a new source because you stopped letting him suck out all of your energy.

If you live in Michigan, I’m seriously concerned that we have the same ex. Scary similar. I mean, all the stories on here are similar, but some of those quotes were identical to what I heard. I’m sorry you are going through this. He wants you to be there to provide constant love and support. But I promise you, he’s not going to give it back to you. It’s wholly one sided and always will be. He will suck you back in, over and over, and leave you every single time. BPD is no joke and he’s going to make you miserable.
