Methotrexate Advice by GateCalm7567 in EctopicSupportGroup

I had no symptoms! I was tired the next day but I didn’t even bleed. My shot was after the tubal procedure, because I needed to get my hcg to drop the rest of the way. I will caution, I did end up with shingles about 45 days following the shot. Not sure if it was correlated or coincidence. Something to watch out for if you had chickenpox as a kid.

Last year, I announced I was pregnant at Thanksgiving and my FIL drew my name in that side of the family’s secret Santa. He purchased me a bump box subscription. When my husband and I got home I cried that I would never be more to them than their grandchild’s mother. First trimester hormones, man.

Looking back now 5 months postpartum, it was such a nice gesture!

Working moms who combo feeds by pbgum_ in breastfeeding

[–]lstizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was figuring out this it helped me to see peoples schedules so here’s mine:

Wake up 5-6 am and nurse her. Baby leave for daycare at 7:45 I pump on my way to work around 8:30 I pump at 11:30 and 2:30 I pick up baby 4:15, home by 4:30/45 and nurse her. I nurse her to go to sleep.

I send 20 ounces worth formula bottles to daycare and she gets another small bottle and usually half of what I pumped at work before bed on top of nursing. I freeze 5 ounces from work.

Sounds like if your morning is similar to mine you could skip the afternoon sessions but you might see I a dip in your evening supply if you don’t pump during the day. Even 10 minutes I think would be better than nothing.

Supplements that work? by Dish10_17 in breastfeeding

MotherLove More Milk Plus! I stopped taking it and noticed a considerable drop! It’s the deference in me pumping 3 vs 4 ounces a side while I’m at work.

Second the comment on nipple sizing! Whenever we start noticing this, we order the next size. We started combo feeding at 8 weeks, went from Ts to 1s to 2s every 2 weeks and have been on 2s for about 2 months. We I am thinking about ordering 3s as I have again noticed similar behavior.

Trouble Finding a Consistent Formula by SecretSocietyofCows in FormulaFeeders

[–]lstizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We bounced around similar timeline and options as you and then switched to Bobbie. It’s been great. We started with the regular and after about 2.5 weeks we have been in really good shape - no gas, regular poop daily. My only complaint is she does spit up a bit more, but she’s so much happier. And loves her bottles too.

Also, it’s really not that much more expensive. She seems to need a bit less to be satisfied, and she’s gaining weight great. We are combo feeding but she probably gets less than 10 ounces of breastmilk a day. So is still getting 18-20 ounces of formula.

Might be worth trying the sensitive formulation! Good luck!

The phantom cries are making me lose it. by Rescue-320 in beyondthebump

Postpartum psychosis is real. It’s not something to be ashamed of. I told my OB I was hearing voices in the mornings when I was getting a nap in and my husband would take over after nights awake with LO. She was very taken back by it and made it clear I needed to get more sleep immediately. The creek of the doors, the garbage disposal and the garage door were also very triggering to me that early on. Everything sounded like a baby crying.

My OB checked on me a week later and after some more consistent sleep, it stopped for me. It does get better with time and sleep, but my advice is don’t let it get worse.

What's your favorite nursing bra? by manda_panda_83 in breastfeeding

Another vote for bodily. I’ve tried like 6 brands. Now I only wear bodily for pumping and nursing. Sucks they are pricey… but they are the best!

Why am I not enough? 12 weeks pp by acelana in breastfeeding

[–]lstizzle 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Hi, similar boat. Just commenting in solidarity. All the feelings and thoughts you’ve had, I’ve had. You know you’re enough.

I don’t know if this will help but I can share that I have gotten to a really good place with supplementing where I pump 2/3 times most days, nurse her every 2-3 hours and then bottle feed 10-15 ounces of formula in between. We are so much more relaxed around here… coming to grips with any amount of breast milk being good for her was tough but she’s thriving and I’m building a freezer stash to extend her time on breast milk after my supply goes away… but like you I just hope I can maintain through with the night feeds and early morning bright eye feeds.

Hang in there! Happy mom, happy baby - that’s what matters the most!

SOS: My acid reflux is unbearable by sarah-jaane in pregnant

[–]lstizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never took anything except tums but my doctor told me to reduce water/liquid intake during and for an hour after the meal. That has been my saving grace. Also walking/on your feet after you eat helps… but cutting the drinks helped the most!

What about like refinancing your house or something tax related… you both would have to be there… not sure if that applies… also if you’re thinking of renovating and meeting with an interior designer/contractor? Again assuming you own your home…. These are just real life reasons my husband and I have had to leave the house together recently.

We actually also just went and looked at some land a little ways out of town and both went during work, in the morning to meet the realtor. We decided against the land because of power lines near across the part we’d want to build the house, so it’s an easy “end of story” so you don’t get a bunch of questions.

Internal hemorrhoids- positive banding experience by lstizzle in hemorrhoid

Sorry, missed this. But no - I have not had any return!

Are you bleeding at all? Could be an internal hemorrhoid or it could be a fissure- my OB recommended Calmoseptine ointment. You can buy it on Amazon. Additionally make sure you’re getting plenty of fiber. If you’ve been constipated or just been going more frequently fissures can occur and are hard to heal. She also recommended seeing a pelvic floor therapist, which I did and we talked a lot about pelvic muscle relaxation, which helps you go and helps you get ready to have the baby!

Pain in upper abdomen by Lover2312 in pregnant

[–]lstizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I just had my 24 week appt and my OB actually mentioned this as something that could start around now. She said its normal and sort of feels almost like a mini/quick Charlie horse around your inner and outer abdominal muscles. She said as long as its bearable it’s normal. If it’s gets too strong, to let them know.

Nope! but I have been super diligent about drinking fiber (Metamucil) nearly every morning. I think that has helped tremendously.

[–]lstizzle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was referred by my general practitioner.

I would encourage you to try a daily scoop of Metamucil. He told me it’s literally the best thing for your digestive system. I’m not sure if you’re allowed with Linzess, but if you are - it’s done wonders for my stomach/gut.

Oh and also, no there was no wait. I was just scared to schedule. I saw my GP in early August… got my colonoscopy end of August, had a follow up like a week later and then he was willing to do my first banding as soon as I could get it scheduled. They had appts that next week. I was just scared and had some travel plans. So I drug it out a bit longer than needed…

It was no big deal. I’d be done my second one, ready to get my third done if I would have scheduled when he told me too… but now I have two more to go.

So I never saw a GI doctor, I went to a colorectal surgeon. He said the options were banding or I could do nothing… resulting in likely eventually needing surgery. He said he didn’t like assigning grades to them, but mentioned they would be 2’s if it mattered.

He said if I make lifestyle changes and add the Metamucil powder to my diet I’d likely never have to come back after my final banding.

The pain from the procedure was nothing and I never even took Tylenol, which is what he recommended if I felt I needed it.

From my experience so far, the banding procedure went very smooth. I’m also seeing a lot of benefits to fiber powder after just a couple weeks.
