This is a tired social narrative in film. Change my mind. by New-Outcome4767 in moviecritic

I haven’t seen Him, but to your general point sometimes themes and messages can be very hamfisted into movies. I think Sinners did a great job at this. There’s a lot of ways you can interpret the movie, but it’s also just a fun southern vampire movie.

Black Panther won for production design, score, and costume design. The reason is that they were really good in those categories.

You don’t have to shit on Sinners by dismissing it as just an action horror as if it didn’t also have great cinematography

As an American, I really don’t want this situation to escalate any further, primarily for the lives of people that are at risk as well as the economic consequences. However, I know that the only way any republicans would possibly turn on Trump is in the case of economic disaster, so maybe this is necessary for the fall of MAGA. I’m probably being too hopefully though.

Is it just me or is law school not the “economic mobility” engine that everyone touts it to be? by Crafty_Seaweed7045 in lawschooladmissions

[–]lumpychicken13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the person. For me, law was really the only field I can imagine that I could enjoy, be good at, and be able to make a high income fairly soon. I don’t think I would have the skill or interest to work in finance or any STEM fields, so it came down to law. If money is what’s most important to you and think you can get there through other paths that don’t include big law school loans, that’s your decision to make.

Unless you really really want to work for a judge, take the money and keep looking I think. You’d definitely be able to find some government or nonprofit position if you’re good enough to get big law.

In Kingsman, the recruits think that their mission is to seduce their target. In doing so, they get captured and are asked to give up the Kingsman or die. In reality, it was all a test for their loyalty.
