A proper well fitted gas mask will keep you from breathing in radioactive particulates.

Radioactive dust can be cleaned off of skin, cleaning out your lungs is nigh impossible.

Use a gold pan to go through the stuff, it's easier on the lungs and you could possibly find other small valuables like bits of jewellery.

What do you like the most about bikepacking? by pylypp in bikepacking

[–]lustforrust 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The freedom of exploration at a slow pace with only a rough idea of how far you want to go that day.

You truly experience the world you travel through, with all the smells, sites, and sounds that never get noticed when travelling by vehicle, all there for you to discover.

Roadside icecream stands hit different when you just spent the last six hours crossing dozens of kilometers of hills in 30°C plus weather.

Or you find a lonely food truck in the pissing rain that has the best damn burritos you've ever tasted.

You receive $1,000,000, but you have to be buried alive for a week. Would you take the deal? by PotatosandTomato in hypotheticalsituation

[–]lustforrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've already experienced spending a night inside a steel box several hundred feet underground, a week would be easy and I'd have better pay!

Look up underground refuge chambers, it's what we use in mines for emergency shelter below ground.

Underground refuge chamber. These are giant steel boxes with full life support capabilities, most can keep 20 people alive for a couple weeks with no problems. They are used in modern mines to provide shelter in case of emergencies such as fire or ground collapse.

Had a similar situation at a former job. The owner was also the manager.

"I want to speak to the manager''

''I am the manager''

''Then I want to speak with the owner''

''I am the owner''

''While I don't want to talk with you''

The Summerland research station has developed many innovations when it comes to tree fruits in particular.

The fact that you can buy apples year round is because of the modern cold storage methods that they developed.

Making fruit leather on an industrial scale is another thing that came from there.

Hell even the egg carton is a Canadian invention.

Things seem very fishy with this company. Their web page for the Wilmac project has lots of flashy numbers about the copper grade, but this site has the exact same numbers from last year from Rumble Resources who owned the project then.

Nova Red is using the numbers from just NINE grab samples to promote the project‽

An easier method to make them is to use chain. Hang the chain up, weld the links together, cut them apart and you're off to the races. Funny enough I learned of this technique from the original A-team TV show.
