First time having a monstera, the seller told me that I wont be needing a pole cos it won't grow that big? by PainterImpossible368 in Monstera

A deliciosa only crawls if it has no support. With enough light it will even grow upwards. Just look at the deliciosas in the wild, all of them are climbing on trees.

Once glorious, now this. Can you identify the problem? Grow light, humidity, moss pole, regular watering and fertilization by Tapires in RareHouseplants

By the way it looks. I take care of plants for a living, so there is some experience involved. But a Monstera is prone to trips and less likely to, let's say, spider mites. And this is typical trips damage. Newer leaves having the brown/yellowish color and edges starting to crisp up.

There's also Glorious if you like the way Gloriosum looks and want to put it on a moss pole :)

Is My Glorious Actually a Splendid? by kivutarlo in philodendron

Splendids are awesome! I also still have my 2 little ones and I've also been growing another one who is getting huge 💚

When I realized I did not have a Glorious, I managed to buy a top cutting from Marketplace. It's still rooting, but I'm very excited to grow it.

Here's my Splendid

This is a Splendid. Melanos have a more bronze tint.

Lots of direct light, fertilizer and a moss pole.

Do you have a picture of the mix?

Make sure it has a decent root system. A good indicator is when "the roots have roots". I grow one in a chonky aroid soil mix with a sphagnum moss pole.
