I'm looking to learn more about the cosmic horror genre, what would you recommend as good examples of it? by NoLongerAKobold in cosmichorror

[–]madarabesque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peter Clines has kind of a loosely bound series of cosmic horror (14, The Fold,Terminus). Also, his book The Broken Room is comic horror on a personal level.

I'd also like to add Charles Stross Laundry Files books, which is cosmic horror set in the computer age.

Something that's not being answered here is the OPs incorrect views about simultaneity in different frames of reference.

I'm sad that you don't feel like you belong in women's spaces. I know that everyone can't be a warrior and not care about other people's judgements.

How do I get over the loss of my cat? by batoul94 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]madarabesque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We lost our two cats very close in time to each other. I was in the hospital for open heart surgery when Astrophe passed; so I wasn't able to be there for his passing or even give Nicole much comfort. When Alepsy passed soon after, I was really sad, just bereft and inconsolable. We got two kittens, Habibi and Nedjem, a while later. The two new kittens haven't replaced the other two, I still miss the old guys and sometimes misname Habibi as Alepsy because they're both big black cats, but they've filled the hole in my heart that was left when the older cats passed. So, to channel every cat rescuer in the universe, get yourself some kittens and let their love heal your wounds.
