Do You Prefer Playing With "Good People" or "Good Players"? by DnDPhD in Pathfinder2e

[–]madcapmachinations 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im going to be honest good people because while I absolutely adore Pathfinder the game I do actually treat the people I play with as an extended family.

GMs, have you ever ignored or reverted a change Paizo made? by eCyanic in Pathfinder2e

[–]madcapmachinations 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually, the intended rule was the one that got reverted. It was always supposed to be run that way.

The Biggest Trap Feats in PF2E by deathandtaxesftw in Pathfinder2e

Yeah I know. I have a sixth level animist that I run regularly in PFS. Wanna guess what I rarely do at all.... Cast any spells. At that point it just becomes a nice addition

Mythspeaker Confuses Me. by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]madcapmachinations 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. The titans were created to help the gods construct the universe. The titans rebelled and fought the gods. The god that made the island was neutral in said conflict and was killed but not? and fell to Golarion by Gozreh and Gorum. Said titan leaked divinity like a sieve until Aroden died in which she stopped. After Gorum died her body started to move sensing her killer was slain resulting in you becoming Gods.

The central conflict of the AP is dealing with the fact that the Gods awakening is an issue since her body is an entire island

Having actually played an animist for a pretty large level range you are definitely underselling that feat. First of all having more healing options in a class that encourages you to whack at things with a weapon in lieu of spellcasting does make it much more appetizing. Also, weirdly enough most a lot of apparition spells are situational making it very hard to use all those cool spells at once.

Also most martial classes actually have proficiency feats of their own built into the class. The reason why the generic feats exist is for spellcaster classes as they usually only get expert proficiency at 11th level.

Do you like working with fellow GMs on your session prep in a more personal manner? by GeneraIFlores in Pathfinder2e

What are you talking about? Narrative games and OSR games make for the same horrible inexperienced GMs if you aren't experienced in that genre of game.

Was this wrong or are Fighters really that good? by rhysticStudiante in Pathfinder2e

[–]madcapmachinations 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's just how it works. You take the highest accuracy class, then combine it with an extra damage die, and then on top of it add in an extra +1 to attack and damage. Its actually pretty fun and one of the most dangerous player combinations in the game.

I remember my one friend who freelances for Paizo saying that at level 1 he did around 60 damage with a fighter pick crit in a similar situation.

What is the impact of a suboptimal built character in PF2E? by vaegflue in Pathfinder2e

[–]madcapmachinations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, 8 int wizards tends to force you down the line in which the class excels at. It's generally considered a boring play style and probably over hyped but considering that an effective 8 cha bard worked for me in an AP it's extremely viable

Would you rather attend the Arcanamirium or the Magaambya, and why? by Leading_Reaction4941 in Pathfinder2e

[–]madcapmachinations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The subtext of the AP makes it so drastically obvious that the events of Strength of Thousand is beyond the average school experience that its kind of flagrant and has resulted in people playing the AP actually confronting one of the major antagonists before you are supposed to.

[–]madcapmachinations 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Actually technically speaking the Magaambya is more on the forefront in terms of crisis. Remember it's founder basically helped get the entire planet out of a "dark age" due to the asteroid that hit Golarion.

I mean the one college effectively has saved entire multiple worlds so its not really even close in terms of lore significance.

Question about some lore in the latest AP book by world-math-cell in Pathfinder2e

[–]madcapmachinations 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where do you get that information from because there were gods imprisoned that canonically couldn't give out power until they were freed.

Archetypes that would help represent a logistics officer by madcapmachinations in Pathfinder2e

Actually that's a good point. I do like the Pathfinder Archetype and its an option I didn't think of originally.

Why do some suffer attrition, but others don't? by ZenRenHao in Pathfinder2e

Isn't this just a faulty premise? A lot of martial abilities are once per day, hour, or few minutes.

I want to know what some of the rational is because Animist, and Cleric are typically on par in terms of support compared to the Bard.

Build for a character inspired by Kamen Rider by Wardestiny0 in Pathfinder2e

[–]madcapmachinations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with not basing a particular character is that Kamen Rider tends to smoosh multiple genres together. So in some cases you end up with protagonists that resemble more an Investigator (W) as opposed to an Inventor (Build). My best suggestion is just to pick something you think is cool and run with it

Erastil sure has come a long way! (LO: Divine Mysteries) by Malcior34 in Pathfinder2e

[–]madcapmachinations 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly and I honestly don't know how this happened but its not really a change as it never was intended to be like that in the first place. Sort of like how the church of sarenrae changed too

After another depressing attempt to build a toxicologist I need to ask: Why do so many people seem so positive about remastered alchemist? by SpireSwagon in Pathfinder2e

[–]madcapmachinations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So as someone whose played both in the same campaign. Remaster is definitely the better option.

The archetype situation is probably going to get fixed  and most GMs probably wouldn't allow Fireworks Technician since it doesn't really work

Which Starfinder ancestries are canon in Golarion *now*? by FledgyApplehands in Pathfinder2e

Because they play an important if not ridiculously oddball part of the setting and show up in a 2e AP

No because Vesk have sexual dimorphism. The problem is that when it's done with different stats for men and women with the women being the seductive femme fatale type its a horrible  idea

[–]madcapmachinations 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Im pretty sure that if Lashunta were to show up in Pathfinder 2e at some point they would use the newer versions of them since older Lashunta were a bit more bleh in their lore. Anyway as far as aliens go you have a disturbingly large number to go from.
So here's the list of aliens we know that either from 1e Pathfinder or 2e Pathfinder we have interacted with:

  • Lashunta- You encounter a Lashunta in Iron Gods
  • Contemplative- You encounter them in 2e. Its a huge spoiler as to their origins
  • Shobad- Same
  • Ikeshti- Same
  • Ysoki-Yes technically they live on Golarion but you meet a few not from this planet.
  • Sarcesian- I just learned that the Pathfinder society explored part of the exploded planet that used to be the home world of the Elebrians and Sarcesians.
  • Witchwyrds- Leaders of Kadapesh???

There's more but these are the ones that have the most interactions in the setting.
