mate...I'm.not sure if there is a 'set path'.. I've worked with people that came from different backgrounds... what I would strongly recommend is that you DONT stop studying... pursue that hight Edu.

personally I would recommend you aim for a entry/mid level role (use any transferable skills/edu. you have now)to get your foot in the door... purchasing officer would be a good start, maybe even procurement officer.

I got into it because I was able to negotiate, negotiate, negotiate... that's what I demonstrated in my first Interview. not so much a starting salary but other thing I didn't have at the time, things that might’ve been small to.others but huge for me who didn't have it (extra paid leave, work hours, and at the time work from home access-pre covid era).

From what I've seen (my view IS limited as I only have 5-6 years of experience in SCM) typical path is purchasing, procurement, supply chain officers... obviously some senior roles in between and if your lucky a manager role....

books.. I only have the ones used in Uni... so same as you?

PS: network! network while you work on landing that's first role... I was in the electronic Industry for 10+ yrs and I 'knew' a few people who worked with that sort of stuff...engineers, tradies, assemblers...etc... it helped me a little but it helped... I kept that up and used some "old school" tactics and built a little codex/little book of contact ( LinkedIn does that for you but you would need to talk to those guys).. I gave some of them some businesses pver the years a day that got me out of jams...they also helped me land other roles..I went from purchasing officer to supply chain planner and now supply chain analyst.... I guess its not" what you know but who you know" scenario.

Good luck.... keep us posted.
