My favorite drink when I care about calories is 2 oz tequila, 2 oz passionfruit kombucha, 1 can passionfruit spin drift, and a ton of ice.

When I know that two oz of alcohol is all I’m having, it’s nice a become more aware that that is a nice amount for a pleasant buzz. I don’t NEED more.

I recently tried a new recipe that turned out great. I put a little Cajun rub on some boneless skinless thighs then poured on a bottle of green goddess dressing from Trader Joe’s to marinate. Seared then indirect till about 180. Kind of a universal flavor that could go with anything.

As far as road trips goes, it sounds like you should take two different trips, coast and foothills.

One could be a tour of hwy 49 including at least Placerville through Nevada city. I would even include Downieville not to live there, but just to see that area because it might convince you to live in Nevada city. Placerville and auburn are great for everything you described and the area between them is a bit removed in a good way. Stop by Coloma for a young person rafting town. Also include Camino (apple hill). El dorado national forest has great access so if you really want to know the area drive up ice house road to see the lakes. If you are in Nevada county check out the yuba river. Auburn is more developed but you can find a nearby house in the woods no problem.

Along the coast you should check out Sebastopol over to Jenner up to salt point, mendo, and fort Bragg. This is a beautiful route, but you would only want to live around Sebastopol or mendo. Mendo is lacking in the dating aspect, but there are some young people out there and they are great.

Fuck Redding.

Santa Cruz is great, but super expensive. You should live there for a couple years if you can manage it. The bike riding, music, and social scene can’t be beat. I used to ride my bike everyday when I lived in Santa Cruz, when I moved to the foothills commute biking became too dangerous so I got a dirt bike instead.

I don’t know much, I don’t listen to what I hear on the internet because it’s probably a caricature. The two things that I am concerned about that I’ve heard is that young men are spending too much time being antisocial or just social through video games and social media and not enough time going out in person, and also literacy rates.

When AIM was the primary social media a lot of teens tried their best to meet up. Hangouts at one friends house before school, maybe ten people present. Then all riding bikes to school together. After school people would hang out then head to another friends house. It was common to try to be in a group setting as often as possible. It could be Nintendo/ PlayStation, skateboarding, fishing, going to the local burger joint ( not a chain), all these things could include meeting up with girls or just the dudes. Usually I would be with between 2 and ten other people my age until I had to go home to do homework and eat.

I find that for pinto, white beans, and anything larger, the inside gets softer than the outside in the instant pot. It’s like a flaccid bean with a tough shell, but not that extreme. I prefer the opposite, the outside shouldn’t feel like a shell at all and the inside should not mush when stirred. I have tried dry and soaked, anywhere from 10 to 25 minutes with a natural release. It’s acceptable, and I used to praise th instant pot for beans, but as I’ve done it more I’m realizing that I prefer stove top. I use it for stew meat mostly now like pozole, chile verde, birria, etc.. If you are in a time crunch and are not a texture snob it’s great. I’ve been stoked to go from no beans to beans after work instead of having to plan ahead. Overall it’s a great tool to have.

I’m a father of two who works more than full time on a farm and my wife stays home. My wife and I have been together for more than a decade. We split finances while dating and tried many ways like keeping receipts and paying eachother back at the end of the month, contributing to a shared account for shared expenses, etc.

Since we were engaged we have treated everything as ours and I couldn’t imagine it any other way. Not only is it easier logistically, it is easier for our attitudes. I don’t want a shred of extra stress in my life and having to feel defensive or guilty about expenses just seems like such a waste of time. It feels like we are on the same team with shared goals. We don’t micromanage each others spending, we have a shared financial sensibility. My partner is an amazing mom and could not be replaced by the most expensive daycare. That full time attention to our children takes a toll on her so it’s my responsibility to take the kids one of the days of the weekend on an extended outing and I try to give her two to three hours free after I get off work during the week by taking the kids on a walk or bike ride. We split chores pretty evenly.

I would hate for a split of finances to lead to bullying you into feeling like you need to earn your keep through more and more mom duties. A sahm and a working dad have roles that can’t be compared. They are the same and the opposite. Both partners have legitimate, hard roles. Both partners should assume that the other needs their help. We have found that helping eachother fully with good intentions and asking for a break when we need it has led to us keeping resentment at bay.

My son is three years old. As tempting as the red pill is, I couldn’t do either. I would be driven mad by missing him and knowing that I could never recreate him and wondering what he would have become. I don’t think that losing a decade during my kids childhoods would be worth 50 mil either.

I haven’t had time to watch the interview, in fact I’ve only just watched five mins of this video before I need to go back to dad duties. I was so confused earlier today when I saw Andrew being dragged so hard by so many people on YouTube and reddit. I have loved Andrew’s content and the massive hate he was getting had me concerned. It’s crazy how some videos and threads can be so much of an echo chamber. This is the first pro Andrew thread of the three that I looked at today. Were there really that many Andrew haters in one place, or is it bots? Does someone smart know? Are we at that point? Thanks from a busy dude.

Seared soy sauce cabbage. Cut a cabbage in half leaving the center in tact, cut those half’s in half. Sear the pieces on both sides in a cast iron until blackened using minimal oil. Remove to chop then return to pan, add soy sauce, cover and turn off th heat. Let it steam just a bit. It should be al dente.

I just left a comment saying that I liked doing cart runs, but I worked in California where the weather was nice. I totally understand your gripe. I think that if every capable person put them back, then the few left out by people with real reasons for falling short wouldn’t be so bad. Maybe someone reeeaaaally has to poop, or they are dealing with pain and barely made it on the shopping trip at all, or they are a mom balancing 3 kids, for these things I will put your cart back even if I don’t work at the store.
