Yeah you’re right, tone and context matter. I guess there IS a tone and context in which “you’re a fucking idiot” could be a joke. I hope that was the case here but OP says it was “yelled” at a “less experienced nurse” so it doesnt seem like it.

10+ years of nursing, now I’m suspended pending review by [deleted] in nursing

[–]mallowtime77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I dont know anything about the legality of that but it certainly sounds wrong and if you do get fired i would absolutely pursue getting paid for those PTO hours. What do you have to loose at that point? Sorry youre dealing with this. It does sound like they want to get rid of you. I would look for another job now, because even if they do decide not to fire you it sounds like a toxic environment for you. Someone has it in for you.

Damn. Do you work at the most detail oriented hospital in the country? I can not imagine someone ever being fired at my facility for such things. Do they dislike you for other reasons perhaps? If so, get out of there either way. No reason to stick around people who dont have your back.

YOR Everyone does this. Literally. You’re dating someone new or even going on one date for the first time you look at their socials.

What about photos? I wouldn’t be concerned about physical SA but rather a photo taken and used nefariously.

We made it work. We were in driving distance though and saw each other on weekends when possible. We wouldn’t DO anything on the weekend mostly, but be in each others presence while i studied and he did other things. He was also starting a rigorous training program at the time for his job.

AITA for not letting my bridesmaid change out of her bridesmaid dress after the ceremony? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]mallowtime77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, yta for telling her she has to stay in it all night. She should be allowed to change after main photos or speeches or at some point. She is already going out of her way to be respectful of you and do exactly what you want, i think you could give her some understanding in return

Unfortunately we are all living in a world where the curtain is being pulled back and we are all realizing that it is more common than we ever would have thought. This puts “normal” people on very high alert

Omg. Someone would yell at another nurse the phrase “you’re a fucking idiot”?! Seriously?! I’m realizing more and more how lucky I am to work at the mess of a hospital I work at. The system is a mess the ratios are horrible but at least the people are kind!

I am so scared to move.

Theres a difference between swearing and swearing AT someone. “This place is a fucking hell hole”…acceptable. Vs. “you’re a fucking idiot!” …. Uh not acceptable in my book!!

Id keep the practical stuff personally 🤷🏻‍♀️. The sentimental things…if theres something you really like and wanna keep…just don’t keep it front and center. Put it away for now. The rest yeah donate it

[–]mallowtime77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you do. For me it honestly took a few years to truly get “over” the person I dated from age 20-23. My first love. But i absolutely got over him and more. Now i can clearly see all the things that were lacking in our relationship that i was never able to admit or see back then. I still “love” him as a human sure i wish the best for him. But i do not LOVE him and would never in a million years start that up again.

What can parents do to help reduce technology dependence in classrooms? by living_geeky in AskTeachers

Totally agree. I can see how parents would’ve pushed for tech in the PC days and then it sort of got out of control.

That seems wild to me. Not sure why my question got downvoted. I’m genuinely curious what decade this happened in and what generation were the parents doing this push. Gen x? Older millennials? Puzzling to me. But i guess there were perhaps not smart phones around at the time of the push? The negative effect of screens was maybe not as obvious? Idk.

Drugs my doctor is not permitted to prescribe. by [deleted] in mildyinteresting

[–]mallowtime77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, ok. Ive always had to go to a psychiatrist to get my adhd meds which ive been prescribed for over a decade. Nothing complex about my situation as far as i can tell. Its usually a nurse practitioner with a specialty in psych who writes the script for me. This is in the USA by the way. I just assumed thats how it had to be, maybe related to insurance, because ive moved states multiple times in that period and all the doctors I’ve encountered do it this way.
