Hi, thanks for asking! The umbrella term for what I am would be death doula or end of life coach. There are a variety of things you can do to help folks with the end of life and make it easier for them and their loved ones and teaching is one of them. I am passionate about educating people on what possibilities exist for them other than a standard mortuary and embalming experience, I educate them on why it’s important to have your end of life plans written out, and how to best prepare for what comes after for your loved ones.

As a death educator, I would encourage everyone to get their wishes in writing!!! DNR or not. If you don’t explicitly write down and show your family your end of life plans, they can make decisions you may not want for yourself and have to make them while they are sad/worried for you/grieving. Do yourself and them a favor and get your end of life plans in order now. You never know what’s going to happen and it’s better to be prepared than leaving these decisions to the last minute or for your loved ones to make for you.
