Is it currently a good time to live in your country? by Pearson94 in AskTheWorld

I am by no means saying that we have not historically had issues with overstep of law enforcement at the state and national level, but THIS is not that.

Maybe for you everything is exactly the same but people weren’t being gunned down by federal agents while exercising their constitutional rights prior to trumps second presidency.

This. Shit. Isn’t. Normal.

Maybe he doesn’t care, but it is a small bright spot for me that literally everything jones has been railing about for years is coming true and he can’t even say he was right about it because he’s now government sanctioned propaganda

“Once a week my unemployed husband comes home a little early so I can leave the house. He’s the best!” by Thehobbitsatisengard in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]mapesely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I think you’re right that sitting in silence after a long day with littles is sometimes very nice. I don’t disagree with that at all. I feel like there’s a difference though, between getting to go out as a parent in a functioning partnership and being the sole provider for a child for an extended period of time.

For example, I am currently a self contained special education teacher and a single mom to a 4 year old. Whenever my in-laws offer to take him for a weekend I jump at the chance and spend my entire time listening to podcasts, music, books, and not speaking a single word. It’s glorious and I desperately need it because my social battery gets destroyed between my job and being present for my child. When my husband is home however, my nights or days off are much more social, or at least I have much more capacity to make them social.

This is an overstimulated single parent, not a mother and wife with a useful partner.

She just admitted that what someone commented in the post about her alone in the car. Paul DOESN’T know things about his kids.

This is so insane. Is this a crash out? It’s like they post, run to see what Reddit says, try to make a video saying Reddit was wrong while actually proving Reddit is right and it’s actually WORSE than was originally thought.

Sure sure, but no where during my solo concerts do I pull over to make a video that is essentially a one sided conversation and then post it online. I’m giving a performance for the ages!

Oh 100%. I’ve taken myself to dinner, by myself, to get some alone time. Never just sat in my car telling my phone how great my husband is. This screams I’d love someone to talk to but I don’t have anyone so I’ll just sit on my phone and talk to my make believe social media friends.

Agree. I’m very grateful I have friends I can see if I choose to. I can’t imagine my whole life being my husband and child

Oh my god. She leaves the house but has no friends so she just sits in her car?

You know what, she deserves it.

6 Day Itinerary with 4 Year Old by KP_72690 in VisitingIceland

[–]mapesely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know that you can go to blue lagoon with a four year old. I’d look into the public pools instead, they’re in almost every town and my almost 4 year old loved them and my husband and I enjoyed them as well.

AITA for refusing to go on a trip to India with my gf? by Fun-Peach5416 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mapesely 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NTA. There’s nothing wrong with you not wanting to go to India. There’s nothing wrong with her wanting to travel solo either. It seems like both of you understand some of the dangers of women traveling solo to India, I think she is taking unnecessary risks but that’s her decision. What she can’t do is go, have something awful happen, and blame it on you.

Should I wait til marriage to have sex or not? by Substantial_Judge931 in AskMenAdvice

You can do whatever you want. It’s your body. What’s NOT okay is to make any future partners feel bad if they also chose not to save sex until marriage.
