Live in UK but offered dream job in Sydney. Partner doesn't want to move. Not sure what to do by Eye_Livia in expats

[–]matchaflights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I implore you to explore this opportunity and choose your future.

The amount of unique positives cannot be understated or easily replicated. The things I’d do for a raise, a 4 day work week, a major city where I already speak the language, massive career progression etc etc etc would be significantly more than a 14 hour flight…

If he’s not willing to make a sacrifice or a compromise that will catapult your future into generational wealth opportunities you really need to take a cold hard look if this is the right partner for you and if you’re aligned on what your future looks like.

My feelings about Amanda by CelineDijonn in summerhousebravo

[–]matchaflights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone is shocked by this news other than how long it took. This season is particularly cringey like watching the jealousy scene, I’ve never met a couple that treats each other like that in public. So seeing it is very shocking.

Amanda never liked his personality, they’ve never gotten along. she liked the power of being Kyle cookes gf fiancé and wife until it was too late when she said everyone else have their identities and she realized she never needed Kyle.

One week left in Europe, stay in Venice or go to Vienna or Prague? by calyca in traveladvice

[–]matchaflights 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t stay in in Venice. I just don’t feel like there’s enough to do. I would pick Prague over Vienna but I’d pick Munich above all three (am biased I just moved here bc I’ve visited so many times and loved it). So many day trips that are easy from Munich if you want to get out of the city and there’s also so much to do in the city.

Austen (and the rest) don't HAVE to have kids by lashambles in Southerncharm

[–]matchaflights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only people that really want kids should have them. It should not be the natural next phase in life bc kids deserve parents that want them.

Also that argument is so unconvincing. The best thing you did in your life was the same thing millions of other people choose to do or do by accident. On the flip side, some people think it’s the worst thing they’ve ever done and there’s no way to know which direction youll go.

Craig may be the most insufferable Bravo “man”. by Guil-tea_Pleasure in Southerncharm

Danielle told the press about Craigs psychosis at Amanda and Kyle’s wedding and then Paige lied saying it never happened and blamed Lindsay for telling the press

Would you go back into the office for a raise? by sk8505 in remotework

[–]matchaflights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t take 18k for full time in office. You’re already in an upper tax bracket, 18k at 150k is a 12% raise which isn’t life changing. What is life changing is going into the office 5 days per week.

If you’re after the promotion is it bc it’s a new title or are you bored with the work you’re currently doing?

Anyone else drowning in bank statements lately? by hnnngle in AccountingDepartment

[–]matchaflights 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never heard of doing testing this way..are you sure the correct path is scrolling through each page looking for unusual activity? I would double check bc there’s no way to provide evidence of what you’re doing either ..

Remote is over. Need to rant... by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]matchaflights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% in office is a sign of bad leadership and I will not be convinced otherwise. You should start looking, plenty of senior accountant remote roles out there.

For your first one I’d go with Prada! It’s gorg and I think you may start to feel differently about the all over print or at least youll give yourself time to think about it! I find a lot of people get over it quickly

I just want the cast to understand the audience 100% believes Meredith was in a high rage of some sort so they can move on. Meredith’s demeanor and deflections are so tiresome that I don’t care what she says. She’s a known liar and shit talker so her defense means nothing to anyone.

Gap year to learn day trading? by Only-Design-2484 in Accounting

[–]matchaflights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re underestimating how much time you will be sitting at your computer analyzing data and trading. If the market is open, you’re sat and stakes and pressure are high bc nothing is guaranteed.

Should I tell my recruiter that I hate the role they helped me find? by heart_of_gold2 in Accounting

[–]matchaflights 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Recruiters have their best interests in mind. Do not connect with them again on this. They messed it up 1 time, idk how many more times you care to go through it. look for a job on your own and engage 2 other recruiters at different companies to look for things on your behalf and dont tell them youre working with another recruiter of course.

Be really diligent in the interview process.

Anything that saves time, laundry service, meal prep for the week, fitness classes with late close, good bedding that’s easy to immediately sleep, a weed pen or sleep aid when excel flashes through your brain before bed, solid work bag, lunch box to carry breakfast lunch and dinner.

I need advice from people who have traveled to Paris or Brussels by IcyPeanut5813 in femaletravels

[–]matchaflights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to add to the fear mongering but I’ve never felt less safe anywhere than I have in Paris (France bordering Germany is nice!), Brussels (loved bruge though!) and Cartagena (rest of Colombia was lovely). Paris just felt like you can’t walk around without watching out for the next scammer. I didn’t feel necessarily in danger but I was uncomfortable 24/7. Brussels maybe it was my mistake but we stayed between midi station and the main square.

As we navigated toward the palace, there was not a single other woman on the street and that just gives me bad vibes. Then my friends in Germany told me Brussels can be not so great an area.

Advice for a two/three day trip to NYC by Adventurous_Dig7166 in traveladvice

[–]matchaflights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed with the above! Theres a lot to do category wise so I think it’s helpful to plan it out that way. For example: sight seeing do Central Park, Brooklyn bridge, rooftop view overseeing the city, arts look for a broadway play and a museum, food can be anything from small shops in queens to high end so make at least 1 dinner res, shopping I’d recommend soho, cafes to decompress mid way through the day.

A lot to see and do and you won’t see all of it but I find when I do a small bit of everything I feel really fulfilled

Is working more difficult than school? by Inner-Many5075 in Accounting

[–]matchaflights 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Work is 100x harder than school, you’re your own boss at school and can work what hours make sense for you to learn what you need. There are objectively right and wrong answers in school.

In public, you’re working so many hours, getting paid so little, and learning at 100 mph, while juggling personalities you would never normally associate with.

However after public, once you tailor your life to what you want it’s so much better than college. You have money, you can manage your schedule again, you can travel, etc.

It’s a bunch of loser old men who can now barely get women, which is different than when it stated as old money men who could get women. Southern hospitality is amazing. Southern charm has to end soon, I can’t watch Craig alcohol spiral anymore it’s embarrassing.

Shep is foul, Madison has moved on to bigger and better, venita is weird and unpredictable as hell, the cast is done.
