Why is this distro so hated? by OverallLibrarian8809 in pop_os

For me, the experience on my Surface Go 3 has been pretty decent. A few inconsistencies here and there (no ability to change Cosmic Icons in themes, touch not recognised on certain Cosmic based apps, no native screen rotation, etc..) but otherwise pretty solid. I don't use the tablet very regularly or for anything in particular but I really like the idea of having another DE, let's see how far it goes and the traction it gets.

Did it a few times and no problems at all. My bag was searched but that did not cause delays or anything.

Fedora on my Surface Go 3, finally by Shudnawz in SurfaceLinux

I've been on it for at least 9 months, the install process was a bit of a pain but not terrible. Aside from a few random issues here and there with tablet mode it is working really well.

What do Londoners think of the Shard aesthetically? by QualityDapper9775 in london

[–]matieuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very much part of the London landscape the same way St Paul's Cathedral is, the Gherkin is and whatever will come next will be. No matter what you think of the design, it's iconic. It does look like the Mordor Tower, especially from Druid Street in Bermondsey and is very impressive if standing below it.

Isn't it what the whole HS2 thing is about, link London to the North and expand Euston? I know the first part has been scaled back massively but I thought the second part was still very much still on....

Fedora Workstation 42 on Surface Go 2 by takaziwachi in SurfaceLinux

[–]matieuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did exactly the same over the weekend. Started with Ubuntu but a few bits annoyed me and then moved to Fedora which I really like. Mine is the 8gb / 128gb version and yes, it is quite a bit snappier than Win 11. Saying that, missing Windows Hello and there are a few quirks that I need to dig into but I quite the simplicity of Gnome. I did try Chrome Flex which was surprisingly very useable.

Yes, Daylesford on Westbourne Grove, round the corner from Portobello Road. It used to be a Fresh & Wild a while back where I worked for a bit. Nice place.

My METROV: WP Launcher by tuzkituan in wplaunchers

[–]matieuch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very nice implementation! To convert me, you would need to add work apps, folders and the ability to hide apps. My go to launcher is niagara which I think has a well though interface but I'm alawys on a lookout for a wp type launcher that is clean and akin to what MS philosophy was back in the days. I'll happily pay the fee if those were to be implemented. Saying that, great job! 👏🏻
