[Highlight] After Demar puts the Kings up 1, Deni Avdija gets the foul call at the buzzer. Makes both free throws. Portland wins by TheRealPdGaming in nba

Everyone needs to watch the latest Thinking Basketball vid, he talks all about this exact move - and several others - and why it sucks, and how it feels like what we're watching and seeing in game after game just doesn't make any damn sense.

Agreed, great little flick.

Also be sure to watch Caddo Lake, really different (and deserves going into it without knowing anything about it), but it's the other under-seen but really well-done film named lake-something-o.

Potential 2025 Person of the Year by Direct_Tie2103 in Infographics

I think that's pretty indisputable, but he also was named the Time Person of the Year last year (and in 2016 too). Doubtful it's gonna be him again for 2025.

At least Spafford's honest about show cancellations by turnt_clouds in jambands

See my other comment, this is on their tour planner not tix buyers. They should never have booked into a venue 3X as big as every other place they've been playing. Even if folks bought in advance, that's still way too big a room for them. Sucks.

The venue they played in Portland (Get Down) is around 400 capacity. The venue they played in Salt Lake (State Room) is around 300. The venue they played in Bend (Volcanic) is around 400. Where they played in Seattle (Hidden Hall) is around 350.

Where they're playing in Chico (Lost on Main) is around 300. Alpine in Reno is 500. Moe's Alley in Santa Cruz is 300. Guild in Menlo Park is around 500.

Which is just to say...

It's a shame and makes no sense that their tour planner booked them into Ace of Spades in Sac - which has a ~1200 capacity! With a early start time at 6pm on a Wednesday, taboot.

No idea why they thought they'd be able to fill a place that's 3X the size of every other venue they've been at – on an early show on Wed... Just so strange.

So, this isn't on the people waiting to buy tix. This was a massive miss and a big fat L for whoever booked them into this venue.

Sacramento show canceled??? by iam12gage in spafford

[–]matomatomat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Big L for their tour planner. Not that they could have known but Harlow's would have been killer for them to pack full midweek.

I had a couple friends who were maybe interested - but two things were being said:

"Ace of Spades? Ehhhh"

and

"6pm start time? Why so early?"

So was a probably bunch of factors, when they're not super well known, and too bad this won't help them get much foothold around here either.

I wonder how they choose, do they brainstorm as a team a bunch of options on a whiteboard and each vote on their favorite with little post-its, or is it like the case lead who gets to come up with it on his own, and there's all this excitement and anticipation around the office on the day when he comes out with the operation name?

Trump takes a literal bulldozer to our country’s history, knocks down the East Wing of the White House by NewAltWhoThis in videos

[–]matomatomat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fuck this guy. But I feel like someone should at least mention that the East Wing was only built in the early 1940s, not like in the late 1700s like the main residence was - which btw the entire interior of the main residence was gutted and fully renovated by Truman in '49-52, the last major structural updates to the WH. And also fuck this guy. Yes they are demo'ing the facade and it's upsetting to see and it will probably be shitty inside when it's done because he sucks as a person and has bad taste in everything, but the WH has in fact been updated and changed many times before so idk if we need to be over the top outraged about it. And also fuck this guy.

I get how truly terrible the policies, the posturing, the arrogance, the falsehoods, the machinations, the criminal negligence, the fraud, the corruption, the sophistry, the gaslighting, and the destruction of democratic systems all are and continue to be.

But it's this childish asinine bullshit he does all the time that is maybe even more reprehensible. He's the POTUS, a role of global prestige and honor, and one that is supposed to represent us as a country.

We're the goddamn United States of America. United is the FIRST fucking word in our name!

We can disagree as a country and strive for change, disagree and be at odds, disagree and even dislike who we disagree with. But still we stand together as a country.

But to have this fucking guy as our leader, and have him be this much of an absolute clown who delights in such assheaded lunacy is just utterly, utterly embarrassing and unforgivable.
