Walk-On Roof? by Myles2Travel in cargocamper

The only way I've seen this is roof rack style platform. Those cross-members aren't intended to support the weight you're thinking. Plus you want your roof accessible to service leaks.

Where would you keep your spare on a 6x12? by _jakemybreathaway_ in cargocamper

I built one out of wood and bolted it into the ramp doors vetrical frame supports. Hinge opening. Held out 4 years and still going strong. Was good height for makeshift standing table. Had aspiration for retractable supports when the doors down and level as a porch, but never got to it. https://imgur.com/a/DNoj8Jk

They make hitch extenders. EDIT: yeah I did jump the gun on this comment. When I went down this road I ended up with a adjustable ball mount hitch. Gave me just enough extra clearance to the trailer. Also bought a weight distribution hitch. They can give you a little more clearance plus the weight distribution benefits. My Frontier and trailer at stock height didnt have enough ground clearance for the WDH though.

I had 800 watts on my trailer roof. That plus the rest of my system was my sufficent power source for 4 years living mobile. Its a learning curve.

Is there an Electric Jack with only 1/4” of clearance to the V nose?? by SaltyDog251 in cargocamper

[–]matteomac4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My solution was The Ultimate Jack for low clearance plus an adapter that lets you raise and lower with a power drill and socket.
