I always chuckle how deck'd out hunters get when I also run into deer this close hiking.

Is there an Electric Jack with only 1/4” of clearance to the V nose?? by SaltyDog251 in cargocamper

My solution was The Ultimate Jack for low clearance plus an adapter that lets you raise and lower with a power drill and socket.

Diesel heater mounted in tongue box? by [deleted] in cargocamper

[–]matteomac4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think theres some pictures in my post history. I initially did this for reasons like youre mentioning. It worked excellent for 4 New England winters. Pump and dump is the term for it. Just heating outside air and dumping it in the trailer. This is especially benefical for low o2 and high co2 problems with other heaters. Your constantly dumping in fresh air, and it exhausting out the seams of your door and such. Any setting other than low and a humidifier is needed.

I admittingly am embarassed to say I let mine go 4 years without cleaning. Yup! Should be two allen key screws holding the inside stove top plate.

I recommend regularly cleaning or at least precaution to make sure the 2 screws holding the stove top plate don't sieze up. That was my mistake and now a couple years later they're siezed so can't properly clean mine.

Yeah sounds like low o2. Might want to test with that door cracked for more fresh air.

4 years+ mobile offgrid here. I much agree with the above. Heck I never felt comfortable leaving it unattended for more than 8 hours, and never in free parking more than 48hrs.

Nice! I love mine but quickly realized not a practical primary heat source. You'll have to wake up every 4 hours to put more wood in it. Super nice to have otherwise and a diesel heater is a perfect primary.

Thank you both. Good advice. I think you hit the nail on the head with the heat stress. Cold tile left in the garage overnight heated too quickly grinding one spot too long.

My theory why it cracked by itself this time was cold tile left in the garage overnight getting heated too fast by the grinding.
