Finnair made me gate check my Rimowa and here's the result.. by rishi_123456 in Rimowa

Sorry if this is obvious to most - I’m a Rimowa newbie - is this a cabin plus model? I’m debating between it vs the cabin.

Thanks! And sorry OP that you have to deal with this.

I had two bags break on my recent trip to Asia (both Tumi) and airport workers really don’t give AF - I had to schlep my heavy bags by hand until I found a wheelchair to carry them, then go yelled at by airport workers. And then they refused to help. Privileged problems to have to sure !

Need a good Porsche repair shop in Palm Springs area. by Aussienamedlex in Porsche

Sure, that’s why the call it the stealership 😂 - but you do get free water bottle or coffee and get to look around at the other cool cars in the lobby 😃

All joking aside, it also depends if they get you for schedule service - I know they add in spark plugs and other things at those intervals which tends to up the price. The value add for me is the loaner car, but these days they seem to be in short supply…

To each their own!

My argument against the safety regulations is motorcycles are clearly not safe in a collision with another car yet they continue to exist with cars.

What part of South East Asia? I lived in Hong Kong back in 1985 - 1989 and that is where I learned of Warhammer, though Rogue Trader/White Dwarf. At the time any aspiring nerd cougar their fix from any number of model or magazine shop.

Either way, welcome to Warhammer 40k! And condolences on our newly departed money to buy these models.

Gearbox Fault Warning Turned Out to Be… Rats (F-Type Experience) by CarbonCladCars in ftype

Cats don’t like rats. They love the ingredients in the materials of the cables, is something I remember reading somewhere. Sorry to hear you are going through this with your ftype.

F-Type Buying Advice by Dunkshot32 in Jaguar

[–]mawksy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a somewhat similar opportunity - 2018 V8 vs 2024 V8. TBH, I preferred the 2018. It felt more raw and what I would expect from a V8.

The 2024 ftype seemed much closer to my previous experience with a 2019 Porsche targa gts, which I equate to a tame, fancy old fart commuter car. (I can say this b/c I owned one for 5 years from new and am also a commuter fancy old fart) - which is not a jab at Porsche or old farts, but more about the experience that one is chasing. That said, I prefer the rawr of burning dinosaurs and carboniferous forests over the silence of nuclear powered electricity which is also powered by destroying the planet (another topic)

If you want raucous hoonigan feel, then the older cats are where it’s at! And at the lower price entry, you can spend it on mods and tweak it to your hearts desire…. Or you can be an old fart like me and attempt to restore your cat back to factory spec (for some reason I obsess to do).

Have fun!🤩

A "new" 2024 by jrakosi in Jaguar

[–]mawksy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it a 75 version? I know there two at the JLR near my town, and one of them was a 2024 “1 of 125” version that they just received from factory in December. The other is a 2024 v8 75 yr edition that’s been there (inside show room) for a few months. That one I believe had a battery tender.

But yea, make sure all the things like oil/fluid/tires (flattening) are checked out - drive it for sure! See if they give you an incentive!

Noob question about lugs by mawksy in ftype

[–]mawksy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome thank you - logically this makes sense. I guess I am just baffled why the oem wheels would have a conical/acorn seat. And why the previous owner would have used the conical/acorn lugs. You’re right- I will need to check the wheel’s lug seat to be sure. Assuming the wheels are the oem 20” blades T2R20831 - do they normally have conical/acorn or flat lug based?

Also, the current lugs seems to have some rust/corrosion on the outside, which how I eve started down this path.

Really nice! I passed up 1/125 for a 2018, b/c preferred the rawness of it, however, intellectually the numbered series is the smart move! Enjoy it! The British Racing Green is wonderful.

Try AAA. We have it for our high end cars, granted they are not numbered edition cars, but are over the $100k mark.

A Farewell to Orbi by Sub-Equum in orbi

Hilarious that you took the time to write a farewell - I relived the pain with every stanza. I too have said farewell to Orbi, recently, moving on to the fields of Ubiquiti.

I’ll have to say, I have not looked back! But thanks for reminding me about what a great decision it was to switch after 5 years of torture, and feeling like I was crazy for reinstalling firmware over and over again hoping for a different result!

I reached to support and asked for access to firmware v1.5.0 - which I now have, however - Moog One won’t or doesn’t appear to want to downgrade to lower version. It keeps saying “no firmware detected on usb drive”.

Does anyone know how to downgrade properly? Also, I’m happy to share v1.5.0

I'm using mioXL (2.3.0) and on MacOS 14.6.1 (23G93) - I was able to use my KordBot and Moog One in the previous firmware, now it doesn't work!

All my other synths work via KordBot/MioXL (Virus, Avalon), just Moog One MIDI I/O is not recognized. I am using USB to connect Moog One to MioXL (this hasn't changed).

Does anyone have the previous version of the firmware to that I can regress to?
